Location: Amber Hills Hold
Date: month 12, day 1 of Turn 7

"Fat arse," Stennar sneered, mostly to himself. He had found himself
walking the corridor after the drudge. Judging her shape, the healer
wondered how she could let herself to such condition. Didn't she care what
she looked like?
Halah flushed and walked quicker. She clutched the paperwork Zelanka had
wanted tighter to her chest. Who was this boy anyways? The little bit of
pride she possessed plumted down into her knees. She wanted to sink into
the ground and have it swallow her up. Yes, she knew the boys liked girls
with a curvy shape to them, and pretty ones at that. She couldn't compete
with the likes of Sofeya, she didn't want to. But what she may or may not
have wanted made no difference here, in this place. She could do nothing
but keep walking and hope this lout would go away.
Stennar also lenghtened his stride and caught up with her, walking side by
side with her. "You do know that over weight is unhealthy, don't you?"
"Wha--?" She gave him a harried glance and sped up her strides. The
Headwoman's office was only around the corner. "What's makes you think
you're so special that you're allowed to make fun of others?"
"I'm a healer, I'm supposed to be concerned about other people's health,"
Stennar said with barely contained sneer.
"Your bedside manner needs a lot of work." She gave him a loathing glare.
"And you need to work out. Or at least cut out the pastries," Stennar was
good at loathing glares too.
Halah gave him a closer look. "Well, looks like you need some more sleep.
Or time out in the sun. It's not like you're the picture of health
yourself."
"It's the all the nightshifts they assign me and my sisters who chatter and
won't let me sleep during the days," Stennar replied and realized he
sounded whiny. It just made him angry at her.
"Oh, you poor thing." Halah regarded him with mock pity. "Or should I say
wher? Since that's what you look and sound like."
"Ha-hah, so clever," Stennar said angrily.
"You'll never know just how." Zelanka's office was just ahead. She stopped
and rapped her knuckles on the door perhaps a bit harder than she should
but she really needed the Headwoman to answer quickly.
Stennar snorted and continued to his way with final glance at her. If she
only took better care of herself, she wouldn't be that bad looking.
Halah breathed a sigh of relief when there was the call of "come in!" from
the other side of the door. She darted in, to safety but her trembling
didn't stop for a long time after.
