Cerillith rose as the sun set. The golden light burnished her hide to a rich, jewel-toned green - a fact that she was not unaware of as she leaped from the heights, bellowing her intent.

Her rider followed her dragon's lead, but at a more sedate pace. Harki got up and left the dining cavern silently on her way to the flight cots. Most of her mind was already with her dragon's. It made the thought of dealing with the aftermath of a flight easier -- it had been a long day of drills, after all, and she was tired.

If Nirreth was exhausted, he showed none of it when he bellowed out his intentions to Catch Cerillith. His rider was left to comply...again. G'nir sometimes wondered _how_ he managed to get any work done with Nirreth chasing so often.

Galerith wasn't likely to miss a green Flight either. Both blue and his rider agreed that this one was a flight they wanted to win. Sh'lua liked Harki and Galerith liked Cerillith.

}: Forget it, youngster, she's mine,:{ Galerith told to Juth who was also joining the growing circle of males.

}: No, she's mine! :{ Nirreth declared loudly.

}: Wasn't it the Lady's choice?:{ Juth reminded him rather cheeckily.

**Don't get cheeky with the Weyrleader's bronze,** M'shan warned his young brown.

Arinoth ignored the other bickering males in favor of casting himself off his weyrledge and into the sky after the lovely gem that was flitting away from them. Far below on the ground, K'yne slipped into the flight room, his eyes roving over Harki's visage and finding that she was more than suitable. This would be a flight to win.

Aznith took another option; he sat near the rim, watching Cerillith carefully. Both he and his rider wanted to win this flight for much the same reasons. The big brown bugled his answer, half flaring his wings in response.

Ma'din strode into the flight rooms and took his place directly across from Harki, locking eyes with her as his mouth lifted up in a smirk.

K'ale wasn't far behind N'call as they both came into the room. The sudden rise had taken them both by surprise but Imalkyth had launched after the green before the large bronze Haloth could drop from his weyr ledge.

Aside from a quick smile at Ma'din who'd made sure he was unavoidable, Harki managed to ignore the rest. She let her mind sink deeper into Cerillith's until they were both floating light as leaves on a thermal, nimble green wings sliding easily though the chill air. Now that they had attracted the attention of a suitable number of males, they could _really_ fly.

Cerillith folded her wings and dove, cutting daringly close to the Weyrface and snapping her wings open at the last moment to shoot arrow-fast over the snowy plain sprawling away from the Weyr. The move was designed to give her a little distance from her suitors - and to show how nimble the pair of them were.

Snow sprayed up from the force of the air as the pack of dragons soared over the landscape after Cerilith. Arinoth admired the green and her wily nature. That was what made greens so enjoyable, he thought, they could be both coy and wild.

Aznith had spent more time with Cerillith than many of her suitors, so did not dive to follow her in her dive, anticipating her acrobatics. With wide sweeps of his wings, he swept after her as she darted towards the plains. Higher than she, but still within distance, he bugled to the green with enticement. His had flown hers many times, now he wanted to fly with them and her.

Galerith followed her but cautiously. He did not want to slap into a cliff face. She certainly did cut it close. Large for blue, Galerith wasn't quite as nimble as green. But he had strenght equal to a brown.

With a snap of her wings, Cerillith was heading skyward again, impossibly fast from her slingshot skim over the ground. Back in the Weyr her rider laughed with the joy of it, even as her dragon admired the sunlight on her suitors' wings. Blue and brown, and was that bronze Nirreth? The green bugled her pride -- the Queen's bronze, after her!

Rogueth didn't know this green very well, but he could tell she was sharp and wily. That stunt dropping down the side had been beautiful. }:You fly gracefully, Cerillith!:{ he complimented her, climbing after the green to seek the sky. She wouldn't be caught this low.

}: We have flown together in play, but we should fly together in pleasure, Cerillith. :{ Aznith's deep croon was resounding. }: You know you would fly well with me and Mine. We will fly high and fall far! :{

Haloth hadn't followed the green dart into her dive.so he was positioned above her when she shot back up but he didn't expect to catch her at that point. She still had plenty of energy to foil any attempts.

Imalkyth's brown hide shone with health and he swerved to adjust his own path. }:Lovely Cerillith, Choose me,:{ he crooned.

As before Arinoth remained silent, unlike his companions who spouted flowery words to the green. Cerillith was beautiful and worthy of many compliments, but Arinoth wanted to _show_ her by twining necks with her and leading her far away from the Weyr. Words meant little unless
you won, and the brown would rely on the strength of his wings to win this beauty.

Nirreth choose to hung back farther behind and observe her. This one was tricky, no sense to tire himself out straight away. The bronze was confident he could gain the gap easily when the time came. Let her fly herself tired first.

Juth, the young brown, had no such strategies. He just tried to stay after her to best of his abilities. She was agile and hard to follow.

The wind was strong and the calls of her pursuers flattering, but Cerillith's blood ran hot with the desire to mate. Abruptly she changed her mind and decided that she wanted to be caught, and with a twist of her tail and a flick of her wings she changed course to fly close -- too close -- to a brown dragon's path. Soon they were twining necks and falling from the sky as far below, her rider lost herself in her dragon's passion.
