Description: Harki remembers that Ma'din has a birthingday
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 3, day 9 of Turn 8
Notes: Mentioned: Rorela
Rorela had planted the seed, and now Harki found herself wanting to
visit Ma'din. Especially when she found out why the Wingthird had
brought it up at all-- Ma'din had a birthingday in the third month.
Harki was terrible for remembering birthingdays, but a quick trip
/between/ erased any guilt she might have felt when she went to knock
on the brownrider's door. Cerillith had already spoken to Aznith, so
she knew that Ma'din was alone and expecting them.
The door opened immediately, and Ma'din flicked his gaze over Harki
before tilting his head to the side. Teeth flashed for a moment.
"Well." With a quick movement, he grabbed her wrist, pulled her in to
press against him and kicked the door closed behind him.
Harki kissed him back, a little breathless. After a moment she pulled
back-- a bit reluctantly. "A girl's going to get spoiled with a
greeting like that."
"Who said I was done greeting you?" Still keeping her pressed against
him, he began to back her up to his bed. "I'm going to bed you.
Repeatedly. Then we can do the talking thing."
"Is this a birthingday thing? Because I already got you a present."
Harki held up the dark bottle of whiskey she'd poorly hid behind her
back. "Surprise! It's booze!"
He lifted his head from ardently nibbling on her neck to look at the
booze. "Birthingday?" He blinked, then remembered that it had been his
birthingday only recently. "Oh." He kept his hand on her back as he
looked at the bottle, then plucked it out of her grip with a free
hand. "Good blend." His grin flashed wider. "Harki, were you planning
on getting me drunk? I'm shocked. Really."
"You know me. Get 'em drunk, rob 'em blind, and leave 'em naked in a
ditch somewhere." She grinned back. "I was also going to see if you
wanted to go bet on some runner races. There's one happening now near
Topaz Sea Hold. But if you have other plans..."
One darker brow quirked up and Ma'din seemed to weigh his options. His
thumb stroked along her back, glancing at his bed and then down at
her. "Hm...We could go bet on the races, then with the winnings buy a
few more bottles and _then_ come back here to get the rest of my
birthingday gift."
"I'm pretty sure it's your birthingday and you get to do what you
want," Harki purred, then stopped. "Uh... it is actually your
birthingday, right?"
Ma'din smirked. "Two days ago."
"Close enough." She kissed him to distract him, and ended up getting
distracted herself.
He was distracted long enough to wrap his arms around her before he
pulled away. "Betting. Bedding after." He set the bottle down. "Thanks
for this. I'm sure we can finish it."
"You sure you want to go?" Harki wasn't sure _she_ wanted to go watch
the runners anymore, even though it had been her plan.
He pursed his lips and then very slowly, a mischievous look glinted in
his eyes. "I think..." He plucked at the waist band of her trousers
and picked the bottle back up. "I think I've thought of a perfect way
to share this bottle." His brow arched as he started pushing her back
again. "Licking it off of warm skin sounds much better than watching
runners. As a matter of fact, it might take a long time to finish off
this bottle. All night maybe."
Harki hooked her fingers into his belt loops and pulled him down next
to her on the bed. "I'm pretty sure it's your birthday and you can do
what you want," she said with a grin.
Ma'din tugged at the strings of her trousers as he propped his head
up on his elbows. "I _am_ planning on doing what I want."
There wasn't much of a way to respond to that, so she kissed him - and
graciously allowed him to do just that.
