"I'm just not sure I'm right for dragonriding, da."

"I think you'll find a dragon this time!" Braysin piped in his eyes sparkling with excitement at the thought of his brother with a baby dragon of his own. He wished he was old enough to stand, but he had at least four turns to wait.

"Your brother and I have faith in you, son." Br'nick replied with a chuckle. "Just remember it's the dragon that chooses. They know who they want and why, even if we can't figure it out. You've got turns ahead of you if you don't Impress this hatching. You've got dragonrider's blood in you, don't forget that."

"Mother wasn't chosen by a dragon." Sinayric reminded him. His mother had told him that she had left after failing to Impress by the age of twenty one. He had never talked with his father about her before as it was not something he cared to think about. She had taken him away without even telling Br'nick about her intent and when he was old enough to ask lied about who his father was.

"No one understands why some of those who are Searched never Impress. I think that it has a lot to do with one's attitude towards the hatchings. If you're excited or even nervous it helps than thinking that you won't Impress simply because you haven't yet. I was fifteen when I Impressed, so there were many hatchings that I was left standing alone at." Br'nick replied not quite sure what to tell his son about Sindreu.

"I'm sure you're right, da. I'll try to think more positively. The eggs are really pretty though. I can't wait to see them all again." he said thinking about the visit they had to the eggs. Seeing the eggs for the first time and being able to walk amongst them was usually his favorite part of the hatching process. On the actual hatching day, things were so chaotic and happening all at once that he couldn't just enjoy the beauty of the dragonets.

"That's my boy! Let's go get something to eat, I'm starving." Br'nick said clasping his son on the shoulder as they walked back into his living area. The children were chorusing their own desire for food as soon as they heard him mention something that had to do with food.

Sinayric hoped that one day he could have a family of his own such like his siblings and father. For some reason he wasn't entirely sure that would happen. He didn't seem to be as interested in the girls as most of his friends were. They were always going on about this girl or that when he didn't see what was so special. **Ah well, that is something to ask da about another da.** he thought and joined his family for the evening meal.
