Characters: Kapera, L'exan
Description: Kapera makes an offer L'exan could refuse, but doesn't want to.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 6, day 15 of Turn 8
Notes: Mentioned: Alina.
Riyanth was egg-heavy and clumsy. Kapera had thought they'd have a few days to go before she was too gravid to fly, but after the performance today, she suspected that she likely shouldn't have flown the day's drills. She was covered in sweat from the drills and she couldn't wait to peel herself out of her flying leathers and soak in a hot bath. Preferably a hot bath with someone else who could scratch her back. That was exactly what she needed.
On her way to the bathing pools, she contemplated her options. Perhaps one of the young bronzeriders would be interested, even though her flight was just done, but they might think it would get them closer to what they all wanted in the end. There was that stodgy brownrider - maybe she could tweak his nose a little. Or perhaps she could just see who was available and tailor her desires to them.
As she approached one, she spotted a familiar figure ahead of her. "Hey there," she greeted.
"Heya, Weyrwoman," L'exan replied from where he was casually perched on the lip of the pool, sudsing his hair. "Long time no see." Their paths hadn't often intersected since his party two months ago, but Kapera had been such a gracious guest. L'exan appreciated that.
She grinned at him. "Hi L'exan. Larzeth catch any cute greens?"
Briefly, L'exan wondered how she had heard about Alina's last flight. "Not too recently," he said honestly enough. Larzeth had been correct in saying his rider was so promiscuous, he didn't generally need or want to pursue greens. "You look whipped. Rough time in the air?" The weather had been changing off and on enough this month that the question wasn't unreasonable.
"Good for him. He flies well and if someone was a green, I'd be happy to have him catch her," she said with a wink. She wasn't always this flirtatious with blueriders, but she was feeling daring today.
"Riyanth is egg-heavy and drills were rough. I'm exhausted," she said.
"Ohhh, it'll be clutch-time any day now, huh? Time flies," a very flattered L'exan remarked, putting the soapsand aside and slipping into the water.
Kapera snorted. "Ask Larzeth to look at her and he'll tell you. She's positively bloated with the eggs."
}:I am not,:{ huffed the gold, who was perched on the Rim because her ledge was too uncomfortable. }:Am I bloated, Larzeth?:{
L'exan's eyes bulged as he silently panicked, and quickly appraised his blue of the situation, warning him to be careful.
}:Relax, I got this,:{ Larzeth reassured, then turned his attention to the gold. }:Your honored rider may feel you are as round as the sun, but I would argue you are instead twice as radiant, most majestic Riyanth.:{
The bluerider was impressed. He'd had no clue his dragon was a poet. Or perhaps he really was the smarter of the two of them when it came to knowing exactly what to say.
}:Thank you, Larzeth. You are well-spoken for your color,:{ the gold informed him.
**Nice one,** Kapera thought, snickering aloud when Riyanth relayed the words to her.
"Are you as quick with your tongue as your blue is?"
And without even thinking, L'exan dropped his eyes below her waist, then lifted them back to hers, and lowered his vocal register so it came from deeper in his chest. "Oh, you have no idea," he said in the downright sultry purr that had brought many a partner to his furs.
}:Thank you, Riyanth,:{ Larzeth said with proper humility.
She smirked at his gaze and leaned in towards him so her hair brushed over the swell of her breasts. "I think I'd _like_ to have an idea," Kapera said.
"Name the time and place, babe," L'exan said confidently, not bothering to hide the effect her words had on him.
}:Are you being an idiot again?:{ Larzeth asked warily.
**Maybe, but who cares?**
}:I do, so knock it off or I'll send in Demos to do something very distracting,:{ the blue grumped.
"I'm about to be confined to the temporary weyr for a month so I'd like it to be somewhere novel. How about your weyr?"
"I'm free tonight if you are."
Several nearby dragons jerked in surprise when Larzeth slapped his tail against the Weyr wall in aggravation. }:I _will_ send in Demos! See if I won't!:{
Riyanth made an inquisitive noise in Larzeth's direction. }:Are you unwell?:{
"I'm more than free." She was pleased by how receptive he was to her overtures.
"Nine o'clock?" L'exan offered.
}:I'm fine,:{ Larzeth sighed. }:My rider is just being.... well, my rider.:{
}:Is that a bad thing?:{ the gold asked.
"Sounds good to me," the goldrider said, unaware of the conversation between the dragons.
}:Sometimes it's bad. Sometimes it's okay. This time it's not okay. L'exan wants to mate with your rider, and he's not thinking about whether or not it's going to end well,:{ Larzeth explained. }:I'm sorry to be so presumptuous, but please tell me you don't think it's a good idea either, majestic Riyanth.:{
L'exan wasn't listening either. He was grinning at Kapera. "Nine o'clock it is." He would have to tidy up his weyr, change the sheets, and have some wine and candies sent up. He hoped the sugar-buttons were still in stock; it seemed everyone and their great-granny liked those.
}:What is wrong with that?:{ Riyanth asked Larzeth. }:My rider can mate with whoever she wants. Even if it is a bluerider. Or a not-rider.:{ The gold didn't like Kapera dallying with not-riders.
Larzeth sighed. }:This can only end badly,:{ he insisted, but let the matter drop and made a mental note to actually follow up on his threats next time. Not that it mattered: He would forget it in three days anyway.
