Yanrik was drunk and enjoying it--as much as he was capable of enjoying anything lately. His relationship with Caellin had become worse than tense, with them barely talking or looking at each other. When he did look at her, all he saw was what they'd lost.
So he spent half his time with the riders after his duties were done, sharing wine and song and doing anything _but_ dealing with his wife.
"Who's got more wine?!" He called out, looking about blindly for another flask of wine and rider willing to share.
A flask appeared in front of his face as Sarian leaned against him, resting her chin on his shoulder. "Did I hear a cry for more wine?"
"Thank you, darlin'!" The Weyrharper took the offered flask and turned to her, grinning. "You're a life shaver...er...saver."
Sarian winked. "I do so try. But you are going to have to share that with me!"
"Hmm..." He took the time to look at her, including the low cut tunic she was currently wearing. Well...actually, he took a peak _inside_ the tunic and blamed it on being drunk. "I think I can manage that..." He took a long wig and handed it back.
Although she was a bit shaky on her feet, Sarian managed to swing a leg over the bench next to Yanrik and take the flask back, taking a generous drink. "What are we drinking to, my good Weyrharper?"
"Drinkin' to? I don't know about you, but I'm drinkin' because it's better than _not_ drinking and it gives me...." He looked at her again.
"something to do with my mouth..."
Sarian laughed. "I don't know where you've been, but there are plenty of entertaining things to do with your mouth." She took another drink and tossed the flask back. "But maybe you've forgotten about them."
One of his brows rose. "I think I've forgotten more than you've even _learned_ greenrider!" Suddenly his eyes weren't blurred with wine but with a sparkle of challenge as he fought back the 'responsible' part of himself in favour of forgetfulness, wine and the company of someone other than his wife.
Leaning back and propping her elbows on the table, Sarian let her eyes run over Yanrik, from the top of his head to his boots and back. "You think so, do you?"
"Oh, I know so!" He took another swig of wine and handed the flask over.
It was nearly empty, and Sarian drained the last mouthfull before slamming it down on the table. "With the amount of wine you've had, I doubt you can remember the stuff you think you haven't forgotten."
"Ha...sounds strangely like a challenge to me. You'd be well schooled to realize that I never back down from those, greenrider..."
Sarian grinned. "Maybe I'm counting on it."
Yanrik stood, happy that he managed to do it without swaying. "In that case, I think I'd best stop talking and start...schooling, don't you?"
"You think you're up to it?" Her grin turned wicked as she poked him in the side. "You did have an awful lot to drink..."
He wrapped his arm around her waist and drew her closer, partly for balance but mostly because he needed someone he didn't have to _think_ about repercussions with and she seemed to fit that need perfectly. "I'm always...up."
"Is that so?" Sarian tangled her hand in Yanrik's tunic and pulled him down so that his face was a mere fingerspan from hers. "I certainly hope you're as good as you think you are."
He grinned, his lips brushing against hers. "I'm _better_"
Sarian laughed. "That you're going to have to prove. Though maybe not here."
"I agree," Yanrik said, pulling her away from the table. "If you've got a weyr, then I've got a few things to show you. I'd hate to show the rest of these riders all my moves. They can learn their own!"
With her fingers still tangled in his tunic, Sarian started pulling him towards the exit, feeling a little unsteady but very plesantly drunk.
"Move a little faster, harper. I'm not a patient lady."
"Anticipation adds more spice..." He thought about that one for a moment and threw caution out the door, reached down and lifted her up. "One second thought...you give directions and I'll get us there." He just hoped he didn't fall over and take her with him!
Sarian laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Left. Go left. But go left quickly!"
He went...and quickly. It had been a while since any woman in his presence had smiled, let alone _laughed_. That was enough to quell the guilt that threatened to over come him.
Sarian grinned as they turned down the corridor towards her weyr.
"Fourth on the right there," she said, pointing with one hand. "You made good time for a drunk harper."
"That's why....harpers have good...timing," he whispered in her ear.
They arrived at her weyr and he gave the door a good shove with his foot. "Please tell me you don't share with anyone..." While he had few qualms, he normally didn't get an audience!
"Not unless you count the overly curious dragon," Sarian replied, setting to work on the ties on Yanrik's tunic. "And she's still socializing."
"Hmm....like dragon like rider eh?" Yanrik set her down and kissed her, letting his own hands do a bit of work on fastenings.
Yanrik tasted pleasantly like wine, and was good enough at kissing that she was having problems concentrating on getting rid of clothing. She broke away with a flush in her cheeks and an appraising look for the harper. "Maybe you might have earned that ego of yours after all."
He gripped her hips and brushed them against his own. "And that was just a kiss...there's more where that came from." An experienced harper beat out any number of fumbling horny riders any day...
Sarian reached past Yanrik to slam the door shut. "Well, if that's the case..." She tangled her fingers in his hair and pulled him down for another kiss, tugging him with her as she backed up deeper into her weyr.
He returned to undressing her, uncovering skin inch by inch, his fingers lingering skillfully. "Never hurry what can be done slowly and well...I see, I've got a few things to teach _you_ greenrider!" He suddenly realized he didn't even know her name. Oh well...he'd find out sooner or later!
"Mmmm. Then stop talking and start teaching!"
