A Celebratory Mood

Writers: Eimi, Yvonne
Date Posted: 6th March 2006

Characters: K'far, Harki
Description: K'far's stalker seems to have left him alone, so he decides that its worthy of celebrating
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 10, day 5 of Turn 3

K'far noticed the greenrider sitting alone in the corner absently gnawing on a ripped out chunk of roll. He was in a light, playful mood, and she was just the kind of company he was craving. Walking up quietly behind her, he brushed her hair aside and planted a gentle kiss at the base of the back of her neck.

Harki jumped and dropped the roll. She whirled to face her 'attacker' with a hand pressed to her pounding chest. "Shards and shells! What are you trying to do - kill me!?"

"No," he chuckled quietly as leaned in to nibble her ear lobe. "I'm trying to convince you to come back to my weyr with me."

The greenrider leaned into his touch, almost unwillingly. Shards, but he was persuasive... "What's got you in such a celebratory mood?"
K'far was many things, but demonstrative wasn't one of them.

"I've just been in a good mood the past few days," he said, slipping onto the bench next to her so he could wrap his arms around her and continue his persuading.

Harki grinned as his lips found a particularly sensitive spot. "At least someone has..."

"You haven't been?" he asked with a note of friendly concern. "Well, I can help you forget. You want to talk about it?"

"Not really." U'kaiah and Sarian weren't K'far's business, and as much as she liked gossip, there were limits. She shifted in the brownrider's arms a little and ran a finger along his jaw. "But thanks all the same. I think you're doing a scorching fine job of directing the conversation so far, and I'd hate to interrupt."

"Well, I plan on talking all night," he grinned. Shards, he hadn't felt this good in _months_! "Do you think you have the patience to listen?"

The greenrider grinned. "Are you going to be talking about me?"

"Maybe about all the things we could do together? I am prepared to provide demonstrations." He could never be this open about being with a woman as long as that crazy Nineba had been staring over his shoulder. What a relief!

"I like demonstrations. I'm more of an action-oriented learner,"
Harki said. Then a thought struck her, and her smile faded. "But are we going to be interrupted again? What about that weird woman of yours?"

"Ah, but you see, that's the beautiful thing," K'far grinned as his fingers ran along her thigh. "I haven't seen her for more than a sevenday! I think she might have finally given up on me."

"No more sobbing in the hallways?" Harki asked. "No more trying to scratch my eyes out?"

"Only me trying to get your clothes off of you as fast as possible so I can buy time for other things." What a wonderful thought. Not having to look over his shoulder anymore.

"Sounds fine, brownrider. Only there's one small matter you should be aware of..."

"Oh?" he asked, pulling back slightly to look at her. Shards he hoped his plans for the evening were in jeopardy.

"If you keep 'sweet talking' me like this, I'm going to lose my reputation for being the woman who demands more than a broom closet."

K'far grinned. "I know of a good broom closet. If it's not already occupied."

"Didn't you hear a word that I said? No closets!" Harki stuck out her bottom lip in an exaggerated pout. "I happen to have _class_."

"I may get you in one yet," the brownrider chuckled as he nipped at her lip. "But I don't care where we go. I'm just in the mood to celebrate."

"I heard you mention your weyr...?"

"My weyr, your weyr, in the closet, under the table... Wherever you like. Let's just make it fast before anyone unpleasant pops up to ruin our fun." He got to his feet, pulling her along with her. "You lead the way. I might get a little lost."

"Ha. You just want to watch my delectable ass," Harki said, laughing.
K'far was rid of his stalker, it seemed, and she... well, she had a nice distraction to keep her from thinking about her friends and the rift between them. All in all, it didn't seem like a bad way to spend the evening!
