Saidrene

When Alina came out from /between/ it was past midnight at Dolphin Cove and most of the dragons and their riders were asleep. Alina headed down to the cliff's edge but directed Imarith to soar past her own ledge to find Ashareth. **Tell her to wake her rider up!**

}:Ashareth, mine is coming to see yours right now!:{ Imairth passed along cheerfully. }:Make room on your ledge for me!:{

Ashareth and Imarith shared a ledge so often because of their riders, that the green did not hesitate, she gathered herself to one side and settled her wings against her back. }:Saidrene....:{ She mentally nudged her rider but felt her sleepy, foggy resistance. }:Saidrene!:{

In her weyr Saidrene popped upright in bed, her ebony hair spilling around her face as she looked around her weyr for the emergency.

"Whuh? Ash?"

}:Alina is here.:{ Ashareth explained.

Saidrene tumbled out of bed and began unshuttering glows.

A moment later Alina tumbled into Saidrene's weyr and began peeling off her riding leathers. "By the _Egg_. I just had the _worst_ thing happen to me!"

"I can't wait to hear about it," Saidrene said, her voice a touch throaty from sleep. She set about putting a pot of klah on her warmer as she watched Alina.

"So, I haven't really been to Dragonsfall on my own yet, right? But I get assigned to take this Crafter there, this Beastcrafter who is going there for... I forget why. It doesn't matter." Alina shrugged as she sat on the edge of Saidrene's bed. "We come out from /between/ and it's dark and my passenger hadn't been to Dragonsfall ever either so we don't really know where to go, so I get Imarith to talk to the Watch dragon to see if he knows where I can find the Headwoman. And the Watch dragon isn't helpful, so we land and I go into the Watcher's hut and--" the greenrider paused.

Saidrene was now seated back on her bed, her legs crossed, nightgown pushed to the top of her thighs as she cradled her cup of klah and stared at Alina with anticipation. "And?"

"And the rider on Watch was totally about to-- to have sex! There was a naked woman in there lounging around in furs like she didn't even care, and she _winked_ at me! Ugh!" Alina fell backwards onto the bed and covered her eyes with her hands. "The worst part though? The brownrider supposed to be on watch was like a _copy_ of D'hol. How am I going to look my Wingleader in the face after that!? How does this even happen?"

"Woo, Alina! If you had stuck around it sounds like you would have gotten a free show!" Saidrene laughed, slowly coming awake. "I had heard D'hol had an older son at Dragonsfall, never seen him for myself though."

"It was _awful_. I never want to go there again," Alina moaned. "What if I see them again!? I don't think I could stand it."

"Some people get off on embarrassing others, so if you see them again just look them in the eye as if nothing ever happened." Saidrene advised. "I can't imagine, though, getting in on in the watch quarters," she made a gagging face, "Faranth knows who all has slept there."

Alina shot Saidrene a dirty look. "I did _not_ want to hear that. Besides, they're supposed to be on Watch duty. Not fooling around."

Saidrene laughed at the look she received and held her hands up, "I agree, I agree. My watch duty times are never so interesting."

"Thank goodness." Alina shook her head. "I reported them, you know. I hope they get put through the wringer. It was _so_ unprofessional. What if my passenger had come in with me too?" She shivered dramatically. "And why did the Watcher have to be D'hol's son? How am I going to get through Wing drills tomorrow? UGH."

"Just look at the Wingsecond then, or look at Imarith." Saidrene suggested.

"I don't think that will help." The greenrider sighed. "Thanks for letting me share, though. I don't think I could have gotten to sleep if I didn't talk to _someone_."

"True, else you may have been seeing that image in your mind all night while trying to get to sleep." Saidrene reasoned it wasn't an easy thing to forget seeing, especially if you weren't weyrbred and use to it.

Alina stood, stretched, and headed toward the door. "I'll see you tomorrow, maybe?"

"Yeah," Saidrene said, walking her friend out. "Sweet dreams, tonight," she grinned mischievously.

Alina rolled her eyes as she climbed onto Imarith's back. "Ugh. No dreams would be preferable. Sleep well." Imarith stretched her wings and leaped off the ledge as her rider waved goodbye.
