Description: Tsogath Rises for the second time. Loseth wins. The aftermath is
interesting.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 13, day 23 of Turn 8
Notes: Notes: Part 1 of 2
The day before, Tsogath had a light glow. She flirted with the males
all day after drills, showing off to them during her bath and soaking
A'vel twice, then perching on the rim and crooning until she was
surrounded by interested males to pay her attention.
The next day, A'vel thought she'd rise before drills. But she didn't,
and he had to be firm with her to keep her from making mistakes. After
her bath she flirted a bit more, then settled in to slumber on her
weyrledge, the glow on her hide growing deeper with every candlemark.
Just as the sun was beginning to set, Tsogath awoke, posed on her
ledge, and shrilled a challenge loudly. A'vel had been eating dinner
and knocked over a chair and the tray on the way out. He arrived at
the feeding pens and watched her, exerting mental control as she
snapped the neck of a wherry and blooded it.
When she was finished, she shrilled a challenge to the males around
her and leapt into the sky. Tsogath chose to fly inland towards the
setting sun, rather than over the water. A'vel went to the flight
cots, watching the riders of the chasing dragons come in to surround
him. His breathing came fast and rapidly because of his nerves.
While N'vanik had no problem being involved in a male greenrider's
chase, he was sometimes bothered for other reasons. Such as that rider
looking up to him and being uncomfortable with certain aspects of
weyrlife. But that wasn't enough for N'vanik to try to pull Loseth
from the chase. As he joined the other men, N'vanik swallowed as he
felt growing lust for A'vel/Tsogath.
Then the chase was on and his mind joined with Loseth as they used
their powerful wings to cut through the skies.
}:Mine!:{ The bronze bugled as he flew after the lovely green. He'd
been fond of Tsogath since she was young and flirted with her often.
Now she was a radiant object of desire and he wanted nothing more than
to claim her.
Tsogath sought thermals to climb high, then dove down towards the land
to skim over fields and panic some animals. She assessed them as they
followed behind her. She reveled in the freedom of flight, but too
soon, her wings began to burn and she was tired. It was time to choose
a male.
Chaneth called, }:Choose me and we will fall far!:{ He'd been her
teacher and he was an impressive dragon. She had vague memories of
flying alongside him and falling onto him. And he was old and
experienced...
Bronze Thadath was doing surprisingly well at following her and he was
a very flashy flyer for a bronze. But could he live up to his
promises? He was new and she hadn't seem him fly outside of those.
Another bronze following her was Loseth. Now, there was a bronze. He
had followed her steadily. And he was leader of her wing and of the
Weyr. He had caught golds and he was chasing _her_. Tsogath was
flattered by this. She was slowing as her exhaustion took her over and
turned herself into his path.
Loseth watched her slow and the moment she turned he shot forward,
grasping her with his talons, twining their necks and tails. }:Mine!:{
he called in triumph as he claimed Tsogath.
N'vanik wrapped his arms around the much smaller young man and bent
his head to claim A'vel's lips in a searing kiss.
A'vel's head was spinning with dragonlust in general. The blinding
spike of it as Tsogath was caught was overwhelming enough to blur out
the details of who had won. He surrendered to the arms around him
immediately, deepening the kiss and letting himself be pulled to the
bed and surrender to the dragon-roused passion of himself and the
winner.
When he was drifting back to consciousness, the first thing he was
aware of was a sensation of feeling pleasantly limp and boneless.
There was soreness but not nearly as bad as the first time, and a
lingering feeling of pleasure warmed him. He reached out for Tsogath
to check in on her and found her dozing off against another dragon.
**Who?** he asked her, but she sent over an image instead of words.
He recognized that bronze hide, and sucked in a breath. **Oh. Oh no.**
Maybe he could melt into the sheets and die.
N'vanik floated in a haze, slowly recognizing the signs of winning a
flight: the satisfaction, the feel of well-used muscles, the warm body
against him. He let out a pleased hum that sounded almost like the
purr of a sated dragon. Without opening his eyes he slid his arm
around the other rider.
A'vel flushed even brighter in color as the other man's arm wrapped
around him. He found himself turning over and resting his face against
the warm body anyway, because it was nice to imagine for a few minutes
that this was nice and normal. It felt nice to have a bigger person's
arm wrapping around him. if he kept his eyes closed and didn't know,
it would be reassuring. Comforting. He could lie here and imagine he
was being held by someone he was close to.
And yet...and yet this was _the Weyrleader_. A _bronzerider_. He
wouldn't be doing this if he knew...
}:You worry too much,:{ Tsogath said sleepily.
Finally N'vanik cracked an eye open. He couldn't quite make out his
bedmate's face but then he remembered... Tsogath had flown. Was A'vel
still asleep? N'vanik would have expected him to flee the second he
was awake. The Weyrleader ran a gentle hand down A'vel's back. "You
okay?"
