The blackness in her mind eased, and she was vaguely aware of a warm
hand encompassing hers. A dull ache throbbed behind her eyes and the
side of her head; Ninaine gave a soft groan and turned her head, her
eye lids fluttering. Her vision wavered as her eyes opened, and the
fuzzy image of green eyes and dark hair blurred into her vision. Her
brow knit while her free hand lifted to touch the throbbing center of
her pain, feeling a bandage and what felt like a large lump. "N'call?"
Her words were slurred and uncertain.

"You hit your head when they caught you," he said first by way of
explanation of her condition. "They're working on Luneth and have her
under control." He knew that would be the very first thing he'd want
to know. He gently squeezed her hand so very happy to see her lovely
eyes open again.

Luneth. "Luneth!" She tried to sit up immediately, but was stopped by
a sudden overwhelming sense of dizziness. Nausea made her stomach
buckle, but she didn't vomit, instead choosing to swallow hard to try
to keep her meal in her stomach. "Where is she? Is she okay?" Her mind
was too muddled to try to reach out to successfully to her green.

"She's okay," that wasn't really true because the healers were still
working on her but she was under control. N'call applied gentle
pressure on her shoulder to get her to lie back again. "No sudden
movements sweetheart. You have a head injury."

She yielded to the pressure, laying back with a wince as she felt the
aches along her side. She felt like she was one big bruise and her
head pounded miserably. "Head hurts..." She lifted a hand to touch her
bandage again, wincing as she encountered it. "Is she sleeping? Is her
wing okay?"

"They're working on her but Haloth is watching and will tell me if
anything changes." He signaled for a healer.

Tavia moved over to the pair with a look of concern. "How are you doing?"

"Her head hurts," N'call said a little strongly in his concern.

Tavia nodded. "Of course it does. If you'd like me to, I can give you
a little something to take the edge off, but we really don't want her
to go back to sleep if we can help it. Alright?"

N'call looked at Ninaine's bruised face and squeezed her hand. "Okay," he said.

"I want to go to Luneth." Ninaine's voice was drawn, but determined.
"I saw her wing. I need to go to her." Her mouth setting stubbornly,
she tried to sit up once again, wavered, then caught herself before
she fell back. She winced at the throb in her head and blinked rapidly
to try to clear her swimming vision as she attempted to focus on
Tavia. She frowned. "I didn't know you were twins."

N'call put his hand out to keep her from trying to sit again. "No
sweetheart," he said.

"I'm sorry," Tavia echoed. "You really shouldn't move yet. You need to
rest without moving at least another day. If you wish I can bring one
of the dragonhealers to you to tell you how she's doing."

In spite of her wooziness and pain, a stubborn, pinched look grew on
Ninaine's face. "I need to be with her. She'll want me there when she
wakes up. If it were your dragons, you'd want the same. "

N'call smiled. "Sorry dear, but guilt isn't going to get you off this
bed. You can't do anything for her the healers can't do. Teseada's
Onnyth is keeping an eye on her."

Tavia smothered a smile by biting her lower lip. "It looks like you'll
be staying right here until tomorrow. Shall I give you something for
the pain?"

"I can be there for her. And touch her and you could carry me to
her..." She winced again as she moved her head a little too fast, then
stifled a groan. Her head throbbed viciously and it was difficult for
her to hold her thoughts together. "Why do I hurt all over? " She
looked blearily at Tavia. "Yeah...my head feels like it's going to
explode into pieces."

"Tomorrow," N'call said gently. He nodded to Tavia. "You fell, that is
why you hurt. You hit your head."

She gave him a speaking look. "Here this will help," she said and
lifted a spoon to Ninaine's lips.

She gratefully took the spoonful of bitter medicine and swallowed,
then wrinkled her nose. "Yuck. Thanks." She continued groggily. "I
want my shaffing dragon." The curse word spilled out of her mouth
unexpectedly, and she didn't relinquish her grip on N'call's hand. "I
just want to know she's okay." Her words slurred and she blinked
blearily. "I'm so tired." She held out her other arm to N'call. "Take
me home."

He leaned in and whispered comforting words until her arms finally
went slack. He kissed her forehead and leaned back looking up at
Tavia. "How long will she be out?"

"At least four hours," she nodded.

"Alright," he said. "I'm going to go check on Luneth. When I come back
I'll just sleep here if you don't mind."

Tavia nodded. "I will keep an eye on her until you get back."
