Still not used to it

Writers: Eimi, Paula
Date Posted: 28th May 2019

Characters: Ciendra, M'ked
Description: Ciendra and M'ked get acquainted after her Mating Flight.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 10, day 4 of Turn 9

By the time Ciendra awoke, her bedmate was already sitting up against
the headboard. He looked down at her with a gentle smile. "I'm
M'ked. Are you all right?"

"Hi, I'm Ciendra," Ciendra replied with a shy smile. She stretched
carefully, listening to her body. She still didn't have that many
mating flights behind here so she was not used to them. Consious of
her own nakeness, she pulled a fur around her. "I'm fine," she replied
after the self-examination.
She hesitantly glanced the man. Something on those bulking, bare
biceps and wide, muscular chest was making her heart beat faster. She
barely registered his face.

"Well met, Ciendra" he said in his soft, deep voice. "Can I get you
some water?"

"Yes, please, thank you," Ciendra replied.

M'ked's nakedness didn't seem to phase him in the slightest as he
pulled back the furs and walked over to the sideboard and poured two
cups of water from the insulated pitcher left there.

Ciendra reached to take the cup and of course the fur slipped off on
her. She tried not to blush.

The brownrider kindly pretended not to notice as he settle himself on
top of the sheet beside her. She certainly looked young. It wasn't
that he was exactly old, but he had at least a good five Turns or
more. "This wasn't your first Flight, was it?"

"No, I've been dragonrider for over Turn and half now," Ciendra replied. "I
still haven't used to it," she admitted. "Not having much experiences
outside the Flights."

That surprised M'ked, setting his glass down on the table beside the
bed, he turned to look at her. "Why would you not have much
experience outside of Flights? It has to have been by choice because
it certainly can't be from a lack of interest."

"I'm just not very good at socializing, you know, with men. I kind of
froze up if I have to talk to someone I like and I never...well, get
any opportunies outside flight." Ciendra was blushing. "They do show
interest but I get all knotted up and shy and it kind just falls
apart."

He settled down on his side, hitching an elbow so he could rest his
head but still look at her face. "Didn't anyone explain to you that
getting all knotted up is the man's job? I think the problem is
you're working too hard. You can catch men with just a look if you
really want to. No words are necessary."

"So they tell me," Ciendra did have her share of friends who had tried
to help her. "Sometimes they also seem to thing I'm too young," she
huffed. She did look younger than her seventeen Turns, being one of
those people who were always estimated to be younger than they really
were. "Last time one nice boy thought I was still weyrling."

"I don't think you're too young. Obviously not, since this isn't your
first Flight." But she was right. She did look young. It wasn't so
much her face or her body. It was more her eyes. "It must be the
freckles. But I'll tell you a secret." He leaned a little closer and
whispered. "I like freckles."

"Thanks," Ciendra giggled a bit. She wasn't sure why she was talking
so openly to him, except he seemed very nice and kind and listened
her.

"So, after your other Flights, did you and the winner..." He trailed
off, hoping that she would catch his meaning without him having to be
too direct. As much as he was sure she would look good wearing only
her freckles and a blush, he was trying not to make her uncomfortable.

"Yes, sometimes, depends who the winner was," Ciendra replied.

M'ked nodded his understanding. "Who initiated? You or them?"

"Mostly them," Ciendra replied. After they had started, she had no
hesitations or reservations. Then she could throw away all holdbred
restrains she had normally.

"So, would it be safe for me to assume that since you haven't left
yet, you wouldn't mind spending a bit more time together?" he asked,
fingering the fur that she still hid under questioningly.

"I would have bolted out already, if I was..not interested," Ciendra
replied with a cute blush. She could still feel the dragonlust and he
was certainly an attractive looking man.

"I've learned never to assume, especially for Holdbred greenriders" he
said, his lips curling into a pleased smile. M'ked did like her
blush. He carefully lifted the corner of the furs and scooted in
close as he slid a hand along the bottom of the pillows and under her
head. "If things go too fast, just tell me. I won't take it
personally."

"Okay," Ciendra said little breathless and lifted her hand to explore
his muscles.
