Teseada lay on her side, tangled in sheets. As consciousness returned she
could feel a male body nestled up close to her, an arm thrown over her
possessively. Before she opened her eyes she decided to try and confirm
that it was indeed the familiar presence she thought. Her mind slipped back
an candlemark or so, recalling Onnyth's cry to the skies as she declared her
intentions to rise. There was the feeling of blood dripping around her
mouth, shared with Onnyth, then the sweet joy of flying through the area
with complete abandon, being chased by a pack of males. One in particular
stood out, one who had won before, one who could give Onnyth what she
wanted. Haloth, it had to be Haloth, which meant... Before she could
complete that thought, she heard a voice.
He swam up out of the depths of Haloth's mind and emotions to find his
arms full of Teseada and they tightened around his prize. "Mmm Tes,"
he said softly in her ear. "That was a flight." Of course it felt like
an understatement but he smiled possessively. He knew part of that was
Haloth's triumph in capturing Onnyth but that was a part of the
afterglow involved with a gold flight. No matter how many times it
happened it was unlike any other feeling in the world.
"It was indeed," she said, lifting his arm so she could roll around to face
him. "Haloth really pleased Onnyth," she said as she replaced his arm where
he could still hold her close. "And you pleased me too, immensely."
In response he kissed her gently then pulled back to smile into her
eyes. "I'm glad you are pleased. I'm highly motivated to please you."
"I could tell," it wasn't just her satisfaction she could feel. Onnyth was
radiating smugness, happiness and something else that only another goldrider
would recognise. Something beyond satisfaction that there weren't really
words for, but pleasure was part of it. "Onnyth feels Haloth was very
creative in his last manoeuvre to catch her. I think you learned from him."
"Such high praise," he smiled. Haloth was entwined with his prize like
N'call was with Teseada. He brushed a hand through her dark hair. Then
he grinned and kissed her neck right where he knew she liked it.
"More," he murmured in her ear.
"Yes," she said softly.
Some indefinable time later, when both of them were once more sated, Teseada
smiled. "That was almost better than the flight itself," she said, enjoying
the feeling of the bronzerider's arms around her. "I could stay like this
for the rest of the day."
"I wouldn't mind that at all," he agreed. "Do you think they'll try to
kick us out?"
"I'll set Onnyth on them if they do," she joked in reply. "Let them argue
with a gold dragon and her mate." The mental picture that formed made her
laugh.
"You're priceless," he said shaking his head. They both knew she never
threw her weight around without very good reason. "At least you know
how to threaten," he chuckled. "Perhaps I should get a fortifying
drink or some food for us?"
"Now that sounds like a very good idea." A wicked grin crossed her face, "I
need to build you up, to wear you out again."
"Woman, you're going to kill me," He clutched at his chest with a deep
laugh as he climbed out of bed to grab the bowl of treats from the
table nearby. "But it will be a happy death," he waggled his eyebrows.
"I'll die happy if you pass me one of those redfruit pies..." She reached
out for it. "Please?"
"Of course," he smiled and brought the bowl to the bed. "Mmm they're
still warm. It's almost as though the kitchen knows what you might
like."
"There'll be cheesy pastries too, if they know what's good for them," she
said as she took the fruity treat. "But for now, eat your fill, before I
take all of these and get crumbs in the bed!"
"Crumbs are bad for further athletic endeavors," he grinned and put
the basket on the bed. "But I can deal with it if necessary." He
picked up one of his own favorites flavored with a klah frosting on a
puffy pastry shell. He sighed in appreciation just before he took a
bite.
