Thayde

Thayde had wanted to go by and see if Jalodwyn was settled into her new quarters the day that she arrived at the Dolphin Hall, but a niggling voice of caution in the back of his mind told him that would be a mistake. If he showed the slightest interest in her well-being, even if it was just for the sake of his child, it would hurt Enamra. He had to tread carefully now that his wife and the mother of his child were in the same place.

Fortune was on his side when he happened to be on his way to his office and saw Jalodwyn approaching in the hallway with what he assumed was Jalotha in her arms.

"Have you settled in?" he asked, taking a step sideways so she couldn't walk right past him.

At first, Jalodwyn tried to step around Thayde, cradling Jalotha up on her shoulder. The little girl yawned, sleepily looking around while she gripped at her mother's tunic. When attempting to ignore him and move around him wasn't successful, cold eyes met his. "I'm fine. Excuse me. "

"Are you on your way to the creche?" he asked politely.

Her eyes narrowed. " No, I'm just going to leave my daughter in my quarters all day while I do my duties." Jalodwyn did step around him then. "I got my roster of duties this morning, so leave us alone. "

Thayde fell into step beside of her, transitioning to the Hallmaster now. "What duties were you assigned?" he asked. He stole a glance at Jalotha in her arms, noting the healthy glow of her beautiful, round cheeks.

People noticed them as he walked beside her going down the Hall and she realized quickly that word would spread and the worst would be assumed. Faranth, this would be worse than Jade Harbor! Anxiety made her stomach clench and the familiar feeling of nausea surged as her heat began to pound. "Shore duty for the sevenday." She began to walk faster, putting Jalotha on her other shoulder away from Thayde's direct view.

Thayde hadn't missed the looks or Jalodwyn's reaction. "Look, I'm the Hallmaster, and you're a journeyman, we are going to have to talk, our jobs dictate that we do. People will get over it. I can't pass messages through different Masters and other journeymen whenever I need to ask you a question or tell you something."

"Then tell me what you need to tell me and then go away. You don't have to follow me around. Just call me to your office. You're really good at that," her words were soft, but cold. The last time she'd been in his office, he'd sent her to Jade Harbor and had rejected the child in her arms. "I have to listen to you there but I don't want you around me otherwise if it's not something to do with my duties here. "

"I am just trying to be amicable, Jalodwyn." Thayde said, but he understood that this was the consequence of his prior actions. He gave her a nod to let her know he had heard her request, although he didn't think being alone with her in his office was a good idea - not if he wanted to sleep beside of Enamra at night.

"Don't bother, _Hallmaster_. What part of I. Hate. You. didn't you hear? You made me come here and I'll do my duties, but beyond that, I don't want anything to do with you. Not on any level. So unless it involves my duties as a Dolphineer, leave me and my daughter alone. "

Thayde sighed but nodded, not surprised. He had hoped that some sort of civil agreement could be made, a long shot he knew with what had already passed between them. "I hear you loud and clear, Journeywoman. Good luck with your duties." He departed from her then, although his mind was caught on one solitary thought - Jalotha.

She glared at his back as he walked away, then trying to control her pounding heart and now her aching head, she walked away. The murmurs of witnesses followed her. **I hope they enjoyed the show. **
