K'lvin walked into his weyr, tried as could be. Fall had been long followed by a longer stretch in the infirmary. He only just bathed and wanted nothing more than to sleep.
"K'lvin, we need to talk." Cylena was siting on his couch, she wasn't pleased at it showed on her face.
K'lvin groaned silently. Things had been strained with his lover for sometime now. He nodded sitting next to her, slightly confused when she moved away from him.
"I've requested a transfer to Vista Point Weyr. If you can, I would like you and Xmrenth to take me."
"Transfer? Why? When?" he was stunded, of everything he expected her to say, this was not it.
"You and I have diffrent goals K'lvin. Your a dragonrider, if you aren't fighting thread, your in the infermary. I can't seem to get any farther in my training here. I have a better chance and Vista Point and the Master there said he'd be glad for my help."
K'lvin stared at his lover, unable to speak. He knew it would be pointless to argue, "When do you want to leave?" he asked finally.
"On the thriteenth." Cylena replied.

K'lvin carried the last of Cylena's belongings into her new quarters. "Where did you want this?" he asked.
The healer barely looked up, "On the table." she told him her tone icy. If she hadn't needed a dragon to move her belongings she never would have asked K'lvin for his help. She was tired and didn't want to see the look in his eyes as he left. "If that's it, you and Xmrenth really should go." she told him without looking up.
K'lvin ran his hands through his hair, wanting to say something, anything about why Cylena had insisted that she leave Dragonsfall for Vista Point. He started to speak. "Cy?"
"Go, K'lvin!" she said flatly.

Xmrenth's bugle to the watch dragon drew K'lvin's attention to the ground, he spotted the infirmary and told his bronze to land nearby.
Removing his helmate he stoped an apprentice and asked if Cylena was on duty.
"No sir, she's in her quaters." the lad replyed.
KNowing the way the bronzerider hurried across the weyrbowl. He couldn't fathom why she'd send him the note. After the way they;d left things months eralier he thought she'd ever speak to him agian.
When he entered her weyr he got his answer, Cylena was pregant, very pregant.
The jounrywamna healer saw his stare a laguhed, "Before you even think to ask bronzerider, the babe is yours."
K'lvin dimmly heard Xmrenth asking what the problem was, he finally answered.
"You where pregant when you left wheren't you? he asked.
"Yes, to tell you the truth I'd hoped to lose it going between. When I didn't I changed my mind and decided to keep it. I didn't want to tell you."
"So why tell me now? What do you want from me?" he was puzzled.
"I want you to promise me, that if something should happen to me, you'll take care of the baby."
"Me? I'm no foster mother Cy." he said "If something happens to me I want the child to know her father." she gave him several names at Dragonsfall. "One of them should be able to help you."
K'lvin felt ill, she seemed so certian that something _would_ go wrong. "You'll be fine, I'm sure there is a good midwife here at Vista Point."
"Promise me K'kvin, if you ever cared for me at all, promise me this." it was as close a Cylena ever came to begging.
K'lvin could only nod his head. He'd never been in the habit of refusing Cylena anthing. He couldn't start now. He wasn't sure what he was getting into but he doubted it was a good thing.
