Also works as Naemor's intro.
It was all over and now their little family was going to break apart again, being separated from each other again. Rignaer would return to Amber hills hold where he was stationed now, Rigella and Naerigga would return to Dragonfalls Weyr, Naemor to the beastcraft hall. Their mother would stay in Maverick's Bend for a few sevendays, to organize things, and then Naerigga would return to pick her up and come to the weyr. Only thing Rigella could feel just now was the terrible emptiness.
}: Xalanyth is here :{, Ceerith informed her rider, her green neck stretched up towards the skies where a blue speck had just appeared.
"Good. Ask him to land next to you. This meadow should be large enough,"
Naerigga instructed and turned to look. "That's your transportation, Naemor. E'eron promised to come for Rignaer," the young greenrider told her brother.
Naemor just nodded, looking tired and sad.
}: Ceerith and her rider Naerigga are down there. I'm to land next to them.:{ The blue relayed.
** Well and good then.** Ga'vin leaned as Xalanyth spiraled down. A few moments later, they settled on the ground and Ga'vin slid from Xal's back.
"Hello there, Naerigga."
"Hi, Ga'vin, thank's for comming," Naerigga smiled.
"My pleasure. So who am I talking where?" he asked. Xalanyth swung his head around and regarded the group with an intent stare.
"Well, this is my mother, Naerella, my brother Rignaer, my sister Rigella who you might have met in Dragonfalls, she's a healer and my little brother Naemor, who you should take to the Beastcraft hall," Naerigga introduced her family.
"Hello, Ga'vin," Rigella greeted. Naemor nodded. "Greetings to all of you," the bluerider said, with a nod of recognition to Rigella. Then he turned to his charge "So, Naemor, are you ready now, or do you need a bit more time before we head out?" Xalanyth lowered his head and studied the boy.
**You alright, Xal?** Ga'vin asked.
}: I am.:{ The blue replied. His tail was twitching like a feline's though, when it had spied something that might be good to play with.
"I'm ready to go,sir " Naemor replied and gave the dragon a polite bow. Ember chittered to the blue from his shoulder.
}: I like him. He'd make a good rider. :{
**What? Oh, now this might just disrupt all of their plans....** Ga'vin glanced at Naerigga with a rueful smile on his face before addressing Naemor. "Well, lad, Xalanyth here happens to be a Search dragon, and a good one too. Having weyrfolk in the family, I'm sure you know what that means..."
They all stared at him, dumpfounded. Rigella was first to react. "You searched him?" she exclaimed.
"Oh ou," Naemor muttered while a big grin spread to Naerigga's face. The boy turned to look his mother with uncertain, questioning look in his face.
"It's your choice, Naemor," Naerella said gently. Thoughts went thru the lad's head. On the otherhand, he was getting fame as an excellent jockey, if he went to the weyr, he had to kiss that dream goodbye. But on the otherhand, he had entered the age where boys grew up fast and if kept growing his current rate, he might become too big for a jockey and had to quit racing anyway. In weyr, he would have a change to Impress, bond with the most magnifient beast on Pern. In the end, it wasn't hard choice after all.
"I accept," Naemor said seriously. He looked the rider. "You have to take me to the beastcraft hall first anyway. I need to talk with my masters and get my stuff." "Of course, lad. Xal and I will be happy to take you to the Hall. And when you're ready...to the Weyr." Ga'vin grinned.
}:Very responsible of him, you know. Most just want to dash off to the Weyr, without a thought in their heads for anything else... Not that I blame them.:{ The blue commented. }:He'll be a good rider.:{
** So you've said....**
