The Weyrleader glanced around the table. Today they were deciding on which of the weyrlings they'd be asking to join their Wings. "Well, first off, who wants that lying sack of whershit C'pier?" N'vanik certainly wanted nothing to do with him.

One of the older wingleaders snorted. "You're really selling him there, Weyrleader." He shook his head. "I've got enough brownriders already, thank the Egg. Cyclone could do with some, though - right?"

There was an uncomfortable silence. N'mon, the young brownrider who'd had to step into M'gan's position since his disappearance, shifted in his chair, feeling far out of his depth in a room full of senior bronzeriders. He cleared his throat. "Uh...I think, sir, if Wingleader M'gan were here, he would say that the Wing is unsettled enough without adding someone with Ç'pier's record..."

"_Someone_ has to take him," N'vanik fixed his gaze on N'mon. "Much as I'd like to keep punishing him, he flies as well as anyone else and he needs to do his duty."

N'mon winced at the prospect of dealing with a murderous wingrider on top of all his other problems. **M'gan is going to be furious if..._when_ he comes back.** He glanced at the door in the faint hope that the missing bronzerider would come striding in to take his place, but it remained stubbornly closed.

"I suppose we could... If the Weyrlingmaster thinks he's ready?" He cast a pleading look at R'lor.

R'lor kept his face carefully neutral. "He's gone through two full weyrling classes. He knows standard formations backwards and forwards, he follows orders, and Yuliuth is strong and steady."

Cyradis Took a deep breath, Sometimes she felt N’vanik Hold onto his grudges for far too long. But she wasn’t gonna change him today. “That’s good to hear,” she nodded at the Weyrling Master.

N'mon's heart sank. If the Weyrwoman was on Ç'pier's side then there was no chance. "Perhaps he could join Cyclone on a trial," he suggested, hoping to salvage something. "If he puts a foot wrong then he's back to the Weyrling Wing?"

"Sounds good," N'vanik said, glad that was out of the way. He had a little pang of conscience so he added, "Thanks N'mon." The poor brownrider had a lot to deal with and they still didn't know what had happened to M'gan. The Weyrleader glanced down at his notes. "I'll take C'rand. We could use another brown and he seems steady." Despite hiding the fact that his boyfriend had hearing problems, but N'vanik's anger about that had quickly cooled.

"Well. All that having been settled, I'd like to take O'rosin," said S'kand. He was impressed with the work that he had put in since arriving at the Weyr. Despite starting with setbacks, he had come a long way.

"I could use another green," Cyradis started. "How about L'fael?"

R'lor pretened to be checking his notes so he wouldn't make a face when O'rosin was chosen. The young brownrider _was_ ready for the Wings, and S'kand's steady hand could help shore up O'rosin's weak points. The quick shift to another rider was welcome. R'lor nodded at the Weyrwoman. "Sh'del and I agree he would be good fit for the Queens Wing with his ability."

"I'm taking Tirraze, unless our Weyrwoman wants to override me." N'vanik smiled at Cyradis. R'lor had said the female bluerider had seemed to have mental struggles at first, whether it was from being chosen by a blue or Impressing at all. But she'd grown in confidence and N'vanik thought she could do well in Hurricane.

“No that’s fine with me,“ Cyradis replied. “If she becomes overwhelmed in the upper wings, we can always bring her down to a lower level. “

"Yeah," N'vanik nodded. He was pleased he was going to have Dolphin Cove's first female bluerider in his Wing, but he'd give her up if it was in her best interest.

"I'll have..." S'kand ticka-tapped up and down the list a time or two. "I'm going to grab Saedyna and Zelah, both. Unless one of you wants to fight me for one of them." He chuckled.

When nobody objected, R'lor nodded. "Both solid choices. Would anyone like to take B'lyse? He has hearing issues, but his performance in drills is solid. We communicate through our dragons and hand signals in Fall anyway, and the lad picked up hand signals as fast as I've seen anyone do it." N'vanik thought his Wing would be too demanding, but R'lor hoped someone would give B'lyse a chance.

No one spoke up immediately, so N'mon cleared his throat. "Wingleader M'gan did say he was impressed with B'lyse's skills, considering - but would he be comfortable being in the same Wing as Ç'pier?" He wasn't sure he wanted to add two new wingriders who despised each other to his list of problems.

R'lor looked over at N'vanik. The only separation they'd discussed was making sure Saedyna and C'pier didn't end up in the same Wing. N'vanik rubbed his chin. "Well, they've been in weyrling training for months without any major incidents," the Weyrleader said. "If it becomes a problem, we can move one of them somewhere else."

**Hopefully Ç'pier,** N'mon thought, making a note to put in extra effort to get B'lyse well settled in the wing. "Thank you, Weyrleader," he said aloud. "In that case, I would be honored to fly with him."

"Thanks, N'mon," N'vanik said.

And when his time came again, S'kand jumped in.

"Any objections if I take R'fayne, too?"

"Fine with me, we have enough blues." N'vanik said.

They got the rest of the weyrlings sorted and R'lor smiled to himself. His first class as Weyrlingmaster had been successfully handed off to the Fighting Wings.
