"Oh, so you're the beauty who's stealing my father's heart," R'sedel grinned at the woman standing outside the door of his father's weyr.
"Please, come on in. We've got plenty of food waiting. I'm sure you know the way to the table."

"I think I can find the way," Ciara grinned back. So this was R'sedel.
Seemed like a friendly enough man!

"All right, she's here," R'sedel called back towards the Weyrleader's bathing area. "Stop primping and let's eat!" He turned a smile towards his fellow greenrider. "He _insisted_ we wait for you. How very insensitive of him not to take into consideration I'm still a growing boy that needs to be fed, don't you think?"

"Oh, _very_ insensitive. K'sedel, you should be ashamed," she laughed as the Weyrleader approached them. "Making your son starve like that."

"Ooooo, I _like_ her Dad! She sees things my way!" The greenrider looped an arm over the younger woman's shoulder.

The Weyrleader raised an eyebrow as he came out of his bathing chamber.
"I only went to wash my hands," he said. But his tone was humourous, not defensive, and there was a smile on his face as he went over to greet Ciara, placing a kiss on her cheek.

She turned her head just so so that her lips could lightly brush across his. She'd be dropped /between/ if she'd let him get away with just a kiss on the cheek just because his son was here. "So you weren't primping then, huh?" she asked with a teasing smile.

"You think I needed to?" he teased.

Smiling a slow smile, she shook her head.

"Aw," R'sedel grinned, "now aren't you both the cutest things... But I'm still no closer to eating and I'm _starving_. Can we eat now?"

"I guess we better feed him in case he wastes away to nothing. I mean, just look at him," teased K'sedel. His eldest must get his size from his mother's family, it certainly wasn't from him.

"Seriously, I mean, I was _twice_ this size when I came into this weyr!"
R'sedel pouted. "Come on, Ciara," he said taking the woman by the hand, "let's show him the way to the table before I shrink to your dainty size."

As he lead her away, she threw a grin over her shoulder at K'sedel.
Shards, the evening was going well so far. "K'sedel tells me you transferred here not too long ago, R'sedel."

"In month 10, actually. Around the time of the last big Hatching." He wasn't quite sure the Weyrwoman Second's could really be called a _Hatching_. More like a drama, really. "Mine is a Searchdragon, you know."

"Don't start him on that," remarked K'sedel with a laugh. "We'll never eat if he goes on about Eniidith all night."

"Show a little gratitude," R'sedel said in mock indignation, "I seem to remember that _two_ of my candidates Impressed in the last Hatching.
That's nearly five percent of the Impressions!"

Ciara winced slightly, remembering just how small Vilarth's clutch was.
Shards...it'd been too small. Pushing those thoughts away, she gave the greenrider another smile. "I bet Eniidith was proud too."

"Oh yes," he grinned. "Like she had laid the eggs and birthed the candidates herself."

"And maybe with that thought we should eat?" suggested K'sedel, offering Ciara his arm.

"Yes, come along, 'mother'," R'sedel said with a teasing wink as he took her other hand. "It's time for you to get your men _fed_."
