Gilsha threw down her book in frustration. How in sharding Faranth's name could she concentrate on _anything_ while she waited for the other shoe to drop?! "Will you just hurry up and rise already?" she muttered, glaring over in the direction of her sleeping green. She stood up and began pacing around the room, casting glances in her green's direction, wishing there was a way she could will Palialohath to speed up her biological clock and get it over with. Its not that she didn't like flights. She just hated the wait...

Since they had spent so many turns away from the Weyr, Gilsha had learned to be very aware of her dragon's cycle, and the signs that proceeded a flight. She always made sure she was at the Weyr around that time. It had been turns since the last time she had been caught unaware. That was a surprise - for _everyone_! Since there were no other dragons in the immediate area, she had been caught by an old brown watchdragon that hadn't caught a green in turns. He was estatic, so was his rider. The Holders, however, weren't so pleased to have a young twenty-something girl and a rider who was old enough to be her grandfather making out and tearing each other's clothes off in the middle of their courtyard. Gilsha never made _that_ mistake again!

Finally the green began to stir, and then her mind snapped to attention, and her usually docile and flirtateous green had somehow suddenly transformed into a lusty, demanding dragon ready to give into her instincts. "Well, its about sharding time..."

Pali growled as she leapt up from her couch and made her way to the edge of the ledge.

"Oh no you don't!" Gilsha called after her. **You're not going _anywhere_ until you give me a sharding ride down to the Bowl! I'm not walking my lazy butt all the way down there!**

Her green snarled in response, but obediently waited as Gilsha vaulted to her back. With a venemous spring, the green sprang from her ledge and circled down to the Weyrbowl floor. She eyed the gathering males warily, letting them get a full view of her, to see just what a prize they were all vying for. This green would be hard to catch, and she was determined that none but the best could have her...

Rogueth had been feeding when he saw the dragon, glowing, circle to the Weyrbowl. He hadn't chased in awhile...and not at this new Weyr, certainly... Without even touching his rider's mind, he left the pens and flew to the Weyr rim- better point to take off from, in the small bronze's mind. He shifted, taking some of the weight off his sore hindlimb, and waited for her to spring.

K'ran had been looking at nothing in particular while Rogueth was feeding. He had been remembering Ista, and missing the warmth as he shivered slightly, bundled in a warm wherhide jacket. The temperatures of Dragonsfall would take getting used to- even though he'd been born in this area, time away meant he needed to get used to it. As a result, the sudden flush that spread through his body was welcome- until he realized what caused it.

**Rogueth, no, don't chase don't chase!** he mentally pleaded, but the bronze would have none of it. His draconic memory didn't know what a Turn was, that was a human concept, but it remembered he hadn't chased in a _very_ long time. With an audible snarl, partly challenging the other males, partly informing his rider he wouldn't take no, he watched the green, keenly intent on her.

Still dripping from his recent bath, Loseth deposited his rider in the bowl and joined the growing group of males. N'vanik's protests had gotten him nowhere. **At least she has a nice body,** the bronzerider thought.

Loseth watched Palialohath's arrival. }:You will be mine, beautiful one!:{ he called to the green.

Oh...no...not this... E'dian cursed as Shandarath's attention was suddenly and undeniably absorbed with the lovely green. The bronze crouched, ready to leap into the air after her. **Shan...**

}: You've made me watch her for sevendays while you worked on that drawing. What do you expect?:{ The dragon said simply. He, unfortunately, had a point, and was beyond arguing with. E'dian wanted very much, in that moment, to die.

}: Palialohath rises!:{ Xalanyth's thought brought Ga'vin running out to the Bowl, taking the time only to stow his harp away in its case before he joined the group of waiting riders. The blue was eager, and Ga'vin actually didn't mind indulging him this time. **Fly well, lad!**

A familiar wave of lust broke into N'klar's thoughts as he relaxed, cleaning and repairing straps. He hadn't been paying much attention to Julerith for the last candlemark or so, but suddenly he was very much aware of his blue.

}: I am going to catch Palialohath!:{ N'klar frowned for a moment. Julerith had hardly chased any greens but Sarian's, until the last time Ryerth Rose.. and he'd lost. Now he was chasing again and again.

Soon, though, the lust caught up N'klar too and he wished his lifemate luck as Julerith dropped him with the knot of riders around Gilsha.
Maybe this was just what he needed..

It was the last thing U'val needed, especially as he had been planning on relaxing with a friend during his visit at Dragonsfall. He had little choice though, since Lyolth had decided to chase. **At least this one isn't weyrmated to one of my grandchildren,** he told himself with a resigned sigh as he eyed the unfamiliar greenrider.

K'lvin smiled as Xmrenth joined the other males, he wouldn't mind a flight with the greenrider who was so intresed in harper's tales.

Gilsha was oblivious to the mixed reaction her green's rising was causing among the group of riders gathering around her. She was already locked into Palialohath as the green eyed the males waiting to catch her. There was no doubt in their united mind that each one of them was consumed with the desire to catch her, but only _one_ would be so lucky.
Only the _best_. And now was the time to discover who that would be.
With a challenging snarl, Pali sprang into the sky, spread her wings, and began to fly, daring all the males to chase her and to catch her if they could!

Rogueth waited as the green launched, and waited for a few moments more, before launching himself with a powerful wingbeat and climbing heavenwards. Let the others directly follow her flight- he would gain some altitude to watch, first. The small bronze was taking a risk, but he felt self-assured that this time, he would win her.

Xalanyth darted into the air, forced in light of the competition to use his speed and agility to gain on the lovely green. He knew he couldn't keep up this pace for long, but neither could Palialohath- or so he hoped!

Shandarath leapt into the sky and climbed, his wings snapping in the air as he sought to match the green's altitude. He trailed behind her, watching intently every shift of angle of her wings, every flex of muscle to judge the path her flight would take- and either match or counter the move as needed. She flew so gracefully, Shandarath had to admire, yet again, the green that he so desired to win.

Xmrenth figured he already had an advantge with the new green beauty, her rider had enjoyed spending time with his. He launched after her.

Holding back for a moment, Loseth waited for the first of the pursuers to launch after the green before joining the chase himself. He was not the fastest of the males, but he had plenty of stamina and he thought that Palialohath would not let herself be caught too soon.

Lyolth lacked stamina and speed at his age, but he had been chasing greens before many of these males had hatched. Conserving his strength, he hung back behind the rest of the chasers, watching and waiting for his chance.

Xalanyth could feel his wings begin to tire. It began as a warm burning along their length- not uncomfortable yet, but he knew that he didn't have much left in him to continue the chase. He hoped- how he hoped!
-that the race would turn soon, and he could have a chance to make a move that would allow him to catch her!

The bronze was not tired at all, in fact, Shandarath felt as though he could fly forever if he had to- but that was the exhilaration of the flight itself, not any particular skill of his own. But he was good, he knew, but was he good enough to win Palialohath? He certainly did hope so, but he refused to give himself airs. He would win her, if she so deigned to choose him. And if not...well...he dared not think about that now, all his concentration trained upon the here-and-now...and the pretty flash of green against the deep blue sky.

Rogueth had kept his altitude, flying above her and the chasers. Suddely he began to descend, dropping down to their level. He was close to her now, above her- would she choose him? An audible croon suggested to her how good he was.

Pali screetched what could only be taken as a draconic laugh as she turned on her wingtip and dropped down a level and evaded her would-be captors once more. She might choose the bronze, then again, she might choose brown or blue, but for sure, she wouldn't make it that easy!

The green's antics thrilled Loseth. Though he was less agile, he did his best to keep up with the twisting, diving beauty before him. He knew he was worthy, and he was determined to show Palialohath that he was the best choice.

Julerith turned on his own wingtip to keep pace with the green in front of him. She was quite the flyer! But he knew that she must be tiring.
Wily from his prior days of chasing, he dived between two others, another blue and a bronze, and almost got right underneath her. If she dropped, he would have her! He bugled his intentions to the males around him, and N'klar swayed a little on the ground. It had been months since Julerith had caught any greens but Ryerth... he eyed Gilsha as hungrily as his dragon was eying her's. He, no _they_ needed this. Though all those still with her would be a good choice, one caught her eye. He was young. He was strong. He was the one she wanted. She folded her wings and dropped right in front of bronze Shandarath inviting him to take advantage of the opportunity she offered.
Palialohath bugled her triumph and her exileration as he did just that, and Gilsha fell willingly into E'dian's arms.

Xmrenth roared in anger, she should have been his. He blinked between to calm himself and felt his rider find another to spend time with.
