Description: Ikoladith begins to clutch and Jyramikah invites Dirwol to join her and Z'al on the Sands.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 12, day 12 of Turn 3
The temperment of her gold had changed noticebly the last few days that Jyramikah was quite certain that the gold would be clutching in the near future. It also wouldn't surprise her if they didn't know about it until the eggs were all on the sands. The gold could be rather needy one clutch and then not let anyone near her eggs during the next clutch. Jyramikah never knew for sure how her gold was going to act, but she had a feeling that this clutch was going to be different from all the others. An inexperienced young brown had been the victor in the flight so there were not likely to be very many eggs.
Ikoladith had indeed been very picky about things that might not bother her normally. She was so egg heavy that she could no longer fly and had been sleeping in the hatching sands just so she wouldn't have to go far when it was time. The first egg came before the sun had begun to shine. She excitedly called to her mate. }: Nyinth! Come, it is time! Do not tell your rider. We shall suprise them later.:{ }:I come.:{ He answered in excitment and pride. He quickly joins his mate. He sat himself above her as he watched with glowing eyes. He crooned encouragement as each egg was laid.

Jyramikah finished her breakfast and wondered if her gold had started clutching without her. **Ikoladith, where have you gotten to?** she inquired as she knew the gold had just started sleeping on the Sands.
}:I am busy.:{ the gold replied. She was rearranging the egg closest to her as she rested a bit. It probably would not take her rider long to come looking for her.
**Do you need me for anything?**
}:Nyinth is here. I am fine. I will call you if I need you.:{
**Allright, we'll stop by to check on you in a little bit.** Jyramikah replied. She knew her gold liked privacy when she was clutching and would call her before she was done. In the meantime, she was going to round up a few friends who she wanted to share the day with. She would start with a quick note to Dirwol and then to Z'al.
Tanzin was very obliging in taking the letters to the intended recepients without any delays.
~*~*~*~*
Z'al had just asked Nyinth were he was when the note arrived from Jyra. He smiled. No wonder he had not been able to find his brown. He wished Kirra wasn't in class. He calmly made his way toward the weyrbowl to wait for Jyra and then accompany her to the sands.
Dirwol on the other hand was in the midst of a room of the youngest class. They were practicing a song he had found for them and was just getting to the point of rebellion. They believed they had sat still enough. The only reason they still sat in there seats was due to Treasure. She was singing along. They all abruptly stopped when Tanzin arrived. Dirwol removed the letter and smiled. "Well, it looks as if you all get your wish. I will have to leave you to journeyman Hevain. I've a bit of business to attend to. Hevain." He motioned to his chair. As he stood there was a rupture of giggles form his young class. He shook his head as Treasure flew to his shoulder. He left them as he made his way to were Jyra had asked him to meet her.
Jyramikah grinned when she saw the two men waiting for her. She had asked them to meet her right before the noon meal. She wanted to give the gold as much time as possible before bringing people with her. The children were still at their harper lessons so she wouldn't be interrupted a dozen times with questions about what color she thought this egg or that one would be. It was her children's favorite game as well as that of many other weryfolk. While she was walking, Ikoladith informed her that the eggs were ready for her to see.
**You're finished?** she asked surprised.
}:Not yet.:{ the gold replied tiredly.
**I'm glad. I'd like to be there for at least a few eggs, you know.** she teased.
"Thank you both for coming! I like having company and help counting the eggs once she's through." Jyramikah said embracing Dirwol lightly and grinning at Z'al. It had to be exciting for him to experience his first hatching where his brown was the sire.
She led them to the hatching Sands where Ikoladith was laboring to clutch an egg. Jyramikah knew what the gold was going through, but imagined that it had to be more painful than a single baby was. At least the pain passed and the joy of having the baby helped women forget about the pain endured to bring the baby to existence.
Z'al bowed as he entered. He moved over to his brown to watch and wait. It was strange to stand there and watch. he had to remind himself that he was here because his brown had won the flight. He looked at his large brown.
Nyinth was lovingly crooning to Ikoladith. He made a deep throated croon as the eggs were clutched. Z'al could feel the pride his brown was exuding and it made him all the more proud.
Dirwol smiled as she led them in. He felt honored at being invited to witness this event. He followed Jyra in and stood beside her. He saw the love and other emotions cross her face as she watched her gold. He gently took her hand adn squeezed in reasurance and love. He had come to admit it to himself. He loved her. He would do anything she asked, if only she smiled at him. He tucked each moment he got to spend with her away in his heart to rememeber.
