Takes time to heal.

Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 12, day 14 of Turn 3

C'lor was walking as quickly as was possible for him these days like the healers had told him to build the endurance back in his legs. He didn't see the wingsecond as he turned the corner and was sent sprawling to the ground. "Umph." he groaned as he sat up and tried to figure out what happened. He hadn't tripped on anything and there wasn't a wall that he ran into, so there must be some explaination. He saw the bronzerider and grinned. "I'm sorry, Br'nick. Did I run into you?" he asked.

Br'nick shook his head. "_I_ ran into you." he clarified with a smile.

"Oh good. I thought I might have not looked close enough as I turned." he replied.

"Nope, I was lost in my thoughts and wasn't watching where I was going. How're you feeling?"

"Better. I can actually do something now besides recuperate."

"That's good." Br'nick liked the young bronzerirder and hoped that he would heal enough to become a real asset to a fighting wing someday soon.

"It seems like I will never be able to fly fall again." C'lor commented knowing that the older rider would be able to give him a different perspective. He had spoken with Therricka a few days ago to ask her some questions he had about what she did now that she couldn't fly fall. She had been a great inspiration to him in many ways.

"I'm sure you will get there. Healing takes time more than anything."

"I hope so. Have you ever been injured in fall?" C'lor asked figuring that Br'nick was a better rider than he was and had never been scored.

"I have many a times. There are just some clumps that are unavoidable at times. The faster you can go /between/ the better chance you have of not getting scored. There are many causes of scorings and all of them take time to heal regardless of the cause." Br'nick said trying to be encouraging. He was getting better at it, but still felt a little strange mentoring younger riders. He didn't mind answering questions as that was something he did everyday with his children. Questions were a part of life and sometimes the answers were difficult to handle.

"I understand. What happens if I can't fight Thread in a wing?"

"There will be other things for you to do, I'm sure. You could always talk to the Weyrlingmaster or Weyrleader if you want a more detailed answer. I'm not really knowledgeable on things that are not totally wing related. I'd be happy to find out for you, if you'd like me to.

"Could you? I haven't know exactly who to ask." he replied glad that he had bumped into the older bronzerider.

"I'd be happy to. How's my son doing with his green?"

"Well as far as I know. She's gotten big, hasn't she?"

"I can't believe how fast she's grown. I forget how fast they grow as weyrlings."

"Thank you for talking with me. I should get back to my exercises. Have to keep myself from stiffeninf up." C'lor said as he stretched his aching muscles. He knew that the pain meant he was making progress, but it didn't mean that he had to like it.

"You're welcome. I'll let you know when I find out an answer for your question." Br'nick replied and headed on his way.
