K'sedel

Ellianith lifted her head from her forepaws when she heard the sweep of long wings above her. A flash of bronze hide caught her eye, and she tilted her head to the side, glancing up as the large dragon backwinged to settle himself beside her. The lithe green stretched lazily, almost sensually, her neck arching rather coquettishly as she murmured, }:Could not resist the heat of today's sun, could you, Nikornath?:{ The bronze looked at the delicate green, while no match for his golden mate, she was certainly pretty enough to pay attention to. }:It is a beautiful day today,:{ he replied. Settling himself so that he did not block her sun, he rested his head to one side, studying Ellianith.

Acutely aware of his eyes on her, she stretched again - slowly - before she tucked her legs neatly beneath her, wrapping her long tail around.
}:That it is,:{ she agreed.

}:Are you enjoying the sun?:{ asked Nikornath politely.

}:Very much. I told Ciara that she should come out here and enjoy it with me.:{ Elli let out a deep sigh. }:I think humans would be much more relaxed about things if they actually _did_ sun once in a while.:{ }:The same with mine,:{ replied Nikornath. }:He is always in that office of his, with little bits of hide.:{ Ellianith rested her chin on her forepaws, a coy note entering her mental tone as she said, }:I do notice, though, that when she is with your rider, she acts as if she has been enjoying the sun.:{ }:He is the same,:{ replied Nikornath. The bronze stretched out for a moment, his mind working. }:Perhaps we should get them out here in the sun too?:{ }:I agree. But how shall we entice them?:{ }:I feel the need for a bath,:{ said Nikornath.

}:Yes... A bath sounds wonderful. Or even a swim in the ocean.:{ }:And we must have company...:{ }:Of course we must...other than ourselves, of course,:{ the green added flirtatiously.

}:So call yours, and I will call mine.:{

Ciara shaded her eyes against the bright afternoon sunlight as she watched Ellianith soar down from the Heights. With dainty percision, the green alighted before her, her neck arching as she peered down at her rider.

}:Good, you're here.:{ "How could I ignore you when you were so persistant about a _bath_, love?
I just gave you one a few days ago!"

Elli threw back her head. }:It is time for another one. And I think it is good for you to get out into the sun. It feels good, doesn't it?:{ Ciara smiled, and found that her annoyance was fading. "It's beautiful today." She slipped her light-weight pants off and adjusted the straps of her bathing clothes. "Now, in you get."

"Another bath?" exclaimed K'sedel.

}:It is hot today, and I am dusty,:{ stated the bronze matter of factly.
}:I would like a bath.:{ }:Is your rider coming?:{ Ellianith asked the bronze as she watched her rider begin to wade into the lake.

}:He will, I need to persuade him.:{ "What?" Ciara asked suddenly as she floated over to her dragon. "What rider?" She looked up at the green suspiciously. "What are you doing, Elli?"

}:I am waiting for you to give me a bath.:{ "You know what I mean! What are you doing?"

}:I told you already! And my neck itches, Ciara,:{ Ellianith added somewhat plaintively.

}:The one you like is there,:{ stated Nikornath. }:If you come down here, maybe she will leave me alone.:{
**The one I like?**

Nikornath replied with a mental snort, }:Just get down here, okay?:{

"Is that better?" Ciara asked as she scratched.

}:Much,:{ the green crooned.

"Good." Getting the bag of sweetsand, she began to scrup away at Ellianith's neck.

Not long after that, K'sedel appeared. **So this is what you meant,** he said to Nikornath, catching sight of Ciara and her green. **Was she annoying you much?** he asked.

}:Just a little,:{ admitted the bronze. }:But you are now here, so she may leave me alone.:{ Elli lifted her head as she caught sight of Nikornath in the water.
Nikornath and his rider. }:The one you like is here,:{ she commented casually.

Ciara glanced up from her vigorous scrubbing. "What are you - " Then she saw K'sedel, and a small smile lifted her lips.

}:See?:{ "Yes, love, I see." She slid down her dragon's shoulder into the water, smoothing the loose tendrils of her braid back from her eyes. "Nikornath pestered you too, I see," she called to the Weyrleader.

"That he did Greenrider," replied K'sedel with a smile.

Finally finding her footing in the sand beneath her, she made her way to him. "And how are you today?" she asked once she reached his side.

"Better for getting out of my office," he said seriously, "And all the better for seeing you." A note of humour had crept into his voice, as he teased her gently.

She grinned and rewarded him with a light, teasing kiss on his lips. "Did you at least lower that stack of hides to about half?"

"And I had intended halving it again," he said. "But temptation is hard to refuse..."

She laughed, gesturing to Nikornath. "What - bathing your bronze?" But she knew what he meant.

"If only..."

Ciara looked at him. "Do you have any plans for later? Or are you planning on being tied up in those hides of yours for the rest of the day?"

"Well now that you mention it, I could think of other things to do," he smiled at her.

"Would you like to come down to the shore with me later?"

"Now that does sound pleasant, a walk on the sand, good company. I could quite enjoy that."

"I'm sure you could." Ciara smiled up at him.
