Description: K'mai talks T'voal into joining the waterball team, though it doesn't take much convincing.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 12, day 11 of Turn 3
K'mai was making his way down to the weyrlake at a leisurely pace, wondering if he wanted to swim or just relax on the shore. Looking around, as always enjoying the 'view' near the lake, he spotted the young man he often thought of as Shayla's handsome brownrider and decided now was as good a time as any to test his recruitment skills. "Hello T'voal," he called, heading toward him.
T'voal glanced up, shading his eyes and squinting against the glare. "Hello, K'mai!" "I was wondering if a strong, handsome young man like you might want to show off a few of his skills?" the bluerider asked.
An eyebrow quirked as T'voal studied K'mai briefly before giving him a grin.
"I'd love to, but I don't think you're my type and Shayla probably isn't going to let you watch."
K'mai's face broke into a wide grin and he chuckled. "I'm not talking about _that_!" Although he knew perfectly well that was what it sounded like. "I'm talking about waterball."
T'voal's grin turned wicked. "Is someone getting a game going? I used to play all the time at Dragonsfall. I might have a few skills to show off."
"An experienced player then. Excellent!" K'mai said. "There's a waterball tournament coming up between the Weyrs, and I'm captain for River Bluff. I'm sure you'd love to join the team." The bluerider grinned again.
T'voal nodded, thinking it might be a nice chance to show off to Shayla.
"Just tell me when the first practice is. As long as we can fit them in between drills."
"Oh, absolutely. Wouldn't want to interfere with drills." T'voal's comment made K'mai wonder if scheduling things might end up being a pain in the rear. "I need to ask a few more people before I figure out practices, but I'll let you know once I do."
"Sounds good to me. If you need any help, just let me know... I wouldn't mind trying to recruit a few more people." "If you know people you think might be interested, go ahead and ask them,"
K'mai said. "If we end up with too many people on the team, we can draw lots or something." K'mai was more interested in everyone having a good time than he was in winning. Although winning would be nice, too.
T'voal nodded with a wide grin. "Are we going to invite our lady friends to come and watch us show off?" "And some of our male friends, too." K'mai winked.
The brownrider snorted and shook his head. "They're all yours, K'mai."
"You're so generous, T'voal."
"That I am, K'mai. That I am."
