Description: Kiranth rises for her second flight
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 13, day 1 of Turn 3
"Hey! _Watch it_!" Shayla growled as a brownrider shoved his way past her to get ahead of the mob of sweaty, tired and hungry dragonriders heading towards the dining cavern. The sharding _nerve_ of that guy... Just who did he think he was, anyway? Grinding her teeth, she tried to shove her annoyance back, somewhat surprised at herself for acting like this.
Usually she didn't let stupid stuff like this get to her, so why...
Outside, a green dragon suddenly shrilled her lust, and Shayla was very aware of the fact that it was _Kiranth_. Oh, shards...no _wonder_ she'd been so on edge lately!
The senior weyrling halted in mid-step and whirled around, running back out into the bright sunlight. Her heart raced as her eyes darted from her dragon to the heights, looking for the familiar form of brown Myarth.
Where was he? Again, Kiranth shrilled her need, her beautiful wings spread to their full extent as she lured the males to her. Shayla stared at Kiranth, her heart in her mouth--and she silently willed her to choose Myarth this time.
The familiar feeling of dragonlust interrupted K'mai's thoughts. }:Kiranth rises!:{ Sebeth supplied before his rider could ask who it was.
A wistful smile crossed his face as he thought of how nice it would be to win this flight. Turning to the greenrider he was dining with, his smile turned apologetic. "There are few things that could tear my attention away from you, but my dragon is intent on chasing. You could come with me to the bowl and keep me company in the unlikely event that I lose."
The greenrider thought for a moment, then nodded, following K'mai out of the dining cavern.
T'voal appeared at Shayla's side out of breath and with his shirt inside out, obviously having come running at Myarth's beckoning. It took most of his self-control to keep from wrapping a possessive arm around Shayla.
Instead he settled for catching her hand in his, squeezing it lightly as he told Myarth that this was one flight he had better win.
U'das joined the group of men already starting to form around the young, lovely greenrider. Zackariath joined the male dragon's around Kiranth. }:
This time I will catch! :{ the bronze woved.
M'galec could practically hear the sighs of relief from the Weyrlings as he dashed out of their class, leaving one of his assistants, a timid young woman barely out of weyrlinghood and only fifteen turns old in charge of the class. But he had no time to think of her obvious lack of qualification to teach them anything about wing formations. He just had to get to the circle of riders and join Dwarkanath in his attempt to win this flight.
Kenaranth landed near the glowing green, eager to win the flight. J'ren smiled as he saw who the green's rider was. Shayla was shy, but lovely.
With an impatient cry, the shining green finally launched herself from the heights, very aware of the males who had decided to pursue her. But _she_
would not be won so easily--not today!
Myarth wasted no time in following, his rider's encouragement and his own fondness for Kiranth making him especially determined.
Zack went after her without a hesitation. The bronze trusted his experience to win this flight for him.
Dwaranath had timed his jump perfectly and he bugled triumphantly. Being a rather large bronze, he needed the extra edge on the faster, more agile dragons. Once he was airborn his strength and stamina could carry him to victory, and now that he had such a nice start, he was sure he would have a good chance at catching this young beauty.
With a powerful leap, Sebeth was in the air, close behind the young green.
He dropped back a bit, waiting to see how she would fly: straight up or out over the land, fast or acrobatic.
Kenaranth took to the air, couting on his size and power to wing him a fairly young green. She simply wasn't old enough to outmaunver him.
This may be her second flight, but Kiranth certainly wasn't going to make it easy on them! The green climbed higher, screeching as the thin air buffeted her. Fanning her wings in a downward tilt she hung for just an instant before she dove to the right. She let out an annoyed snarl as one of the males dropped close--she was not ready yet!
Zackariath followed the green patiently. She would choose soon!
He knew it was a risk, but Sebeth chanced a few aerial maneuvers, hoping to catch the green's attention. He tucked his wings, spinning as he dropped toward Kiranth. He came up well short of her and shifted left and right, nearly grazing the noses of the males behind him.
Dwarkanath snarled as the blue's tail passed before his snout. He was not about to take that! He took a chance and allowed himself to drop slightly, out of the way of the frustrating blue, and hopefully in ready position should the green decide to take a dive.
But the young green was not in the mood for another one of those. She was tiring quickly. Sensing the bronze one below her, she shrilled her frustration. With a thrust of her bright wings, she caught another thermal and soared high above him. Lustily she called to her suitors to fly faster and to keep following her, for she would choose among them soon...
Down on the ground, Shayla echoed her dragon's cry, spinning out of M'galec's questing hands and into the pack of aroused men closing in around her. Everywhere their fingers touched her, her skin burned; every breath that whispered across her face and neck made her shiver--making the anticipation within her grow.
Suddenly she found herself pushed up against another rider, and she snarled as the bluerider's hands roughly pulled her closer, exploring her.
Above them, one of the dragons moved toward the tiring green, and she did not evade him. Sebeth claimed Kiranth, calling out his triumph as K'mai pressed his burning lips to Shayla's.
