Description: Br'nick checks up on S'ric after talking to C'lor.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 13, day 7 of Turn 3
Lemintrith was resting on her couch as the bronze landed. She informed her rider of the visitor. }:Cendarnth is here to visit us!:{ she called out excitedly. She liked talking to the older bronze very much.
**Oh they are?** he replied happy to hear that. He had been planning to go visit his siblings. Weyrling training had them quite busy as of late. They had their own weyr and could fly unsupervised. They were working on visualization in preparation to go /between/. He had some questions about that and he knew that his father could answer them as well as the Weyrlingmaster could.
}:One of the little ones is with him as well.:{ she replied as the bronze's passengers dismounted.
**I'm coming!** he told her as he put down his papers and headed out there. He walked out to her portion of their weyr to meet his father and whomever had come with him. He thought it might be Ictavion or one of the other little ones, but he was not suprised to see his eight turn old brother, Braysin.
"Hello, son!" Br'nick called as the weyrling came into view. He hadn't seen much of the boy since he had Impressed, but had kept himself abreast of the boy's progress through his talks with C'lor. The young bronzerider would make a fine rider as soon as he regained mobility and strength. Until then he would be of use in the Weyrlingmaster's team.
Braysin could hardly contain his excitement at seeing his brother's weyr and his green who had grown an awful lot. Maybe he could convince S'ric to give him a ride on Lemintrith this afternoon. He used to like riding with Mahahalath as much as he did riding Cendarnth even if he was bigger than both the greens.
"Hullo, da. Good morning Braysin. Come on in!" he said ushering them into the weyr. It wasn't much, but he preferred it to the noise of the candidate and weyrling barracks.
Braysin had never seen such a small weyr before, but he hadn't seen that many weyrs in his young life. "Where's your bathing pool?" he asked looking around the weyr. There was a bed, a trunk, a chair and table, but no bathing pool. Their da's weyr had a bathing pool in it, so he had assumed that all riders had a bathing pool in their weyrs.
"Not every weyr has one, son." Br'nick said quickly to avert any further questions.
"We have a communal bathing pool not far." S'ric explained understanding why the boy would ask such a question. He had wondered the same thing until he reached candidate status and they had explained that not every weyr had its own bathing pool.
"Oh!" Braysin said as he wondered over to talk to Lemintrith. When the young boy was occupied with the dragonet, Br'nick smiled and asked, "How're you doing, son?"
"I'm fine. Why do you ask?"
"I haven't seen you in so long. I just wanted to make sure that you're allright."
"I'm fine. I do have a few questions about going /between/, though. What is it like the first time?" he asked.
"You've been /between/ before son, what do you want to know about it?"
"Yes, but not the one doing the visualizing. I'm scared. I don't want to mess up and be stuck in a wall somewhere forever." he said keeping his voice low enough not to let Braysin hear. He didn't want to upset his younger brother.
"Just keep practicing. You'll do fine. Don't be too nervous as that doesn't help. You've got awhile before you actually go /between/ to practice. I know you'll do fine. Were you nervous the first time you flew together?"
"Yeah, but that was no big deal. She knew what she was doing."
"Just as she does now. Your brother would like a ride on Lemintrith if you don't mind."
"Not at all. Hey Braysin, want to fly?" he asked coming up beside his younger brother. Anticipation of an event was often worse than the actual occurance, but he was going to be fine. His father said so.
