K'sedel

K'sedel

**Nikornath,** called the Weyrleader to his dragon. **Can you speak to Enidiith and ask hers to come and see me when he's free.**

The bronze gave his rider a look, he didn't need to acknowledge the fact that he was already making contact with the green, and his rider new that.

"You wanted to see me, Dad?" the green's rider asked as he strode into the Weyrleader's office.

"I need a favour, if you are heading out towards Garnet Valley and the Smith Hall on search over the next couple of days," said the Weyrleader coming straight to the point.

"Well, I had no definite plan where exactly I would Search, but I could certainly make it one of my stops," R'sedel shrugged as he hitched his hip onto his father's desk. "What do you need?"

"I've commissioned something nice and pretty for Ciara, for when the baby comes," explained his father. "And it'll be ready in a day or two, I was wondering if you could collect it for me?" He really hoped that the necklace would work out, and that Ciara would appreciate it. Holdborn women seemed to adore the baubles and things if they could get to them, the weyrborn seemed more practical at times, almost of the attitude that they didn't need such pretty things.

The greenrider nodded. "I suppose I could do that. I was there myself not too long ago. To pick something out for your granddaughter."

"Which one?" he asked, "I haven't forgotten a birthingday have I?"
Deralie was due her first birthingday soon. Kerranna had had one, so...
"Reyela or Rondera. Shards I forget which one it is this time."

"Reyela. She's twelve now. Can you believe it? _Twelve_!"

"It isn't all that long ago I was saying the same about you," teased his father. "And look at you now!"

"Yes, old enough to be the uncle of a twelve-turn-old," R'sedel chuckled.

"Rondera isn't so far behind her."

"Nope! None of them are. Not even the one you're now expecting so impatiently." His son gave his leg a friendly push with the toe of his boot.

"I arranged a price with Hallmaster Daynar," said K'sedel changing the subject back.

"You're going to give me the marks for it, right?"

"Of course," K'sedel opened his desk draw, and pulled a small pouch out of the depths, before closing and locking it again. "The price was 4 1/2 marks. If he tries to charge you more, remind him that we shook on it."

"Don't worry," the Searchrider grinned evilly, "If he tries to take it for more, I'll remind him I have the power to Search half of his apprentices."

"Not of course, that you would ever dream of doing such a thing."
K'sedel's tone was light and only half serious, although the more candidates, the more choice for the hatchlings. He pushed the pouch over to R'sedel.

"Oh, of _course_ not," the greenrider chuckled. "Don't worry, Dad, I'll bring back your necklace and a candidate or two for you."

"Good."
