"Karri?" Teseada poked her head around the door of her friend's weyr.
"You got time for a chat?"
"Oh, yea! A friend!" Karri exclaimed as she spun around from where she had been standing in front of her dresser. "Sure, if you've got time to help move furniture!"
"Move furniture?" queried the gold weyrling.
Karri flicked her wrist at the the offending dresser. "U'kaiah helped me move it over there a few days ago. I thought I would like it over there better, but I _hate_ it... Help me move it back?"
"No problem," she replied, wondering what it was that had brought U'kaiah here. "Did you take things out of it first?"
The greenrider grinned, "Nope. You came here for some conversation, so how about we do that while I throw everything on the bed."
Teseada grinned. "So how come you had a certain bronzerider here?"
Karri paused at her dresser drawer and then turned and gave her friend a lopsided smile. "Because he was helping me move my dresser."
"Just moving the dresser?" teased the other girl. "Nothing else, 'moved' ?"
"Just the dresser... this time." Karri said, trying to be coy. If Teseada wanted to tease, she could tease right back.
"So you managed it then? Before she rises?"
Leave it to Teseada to know when she was full of wherry dung. She nodded and explained. "U'kaiah is a really nice guy and a great partner. He was polite and considerate, everything I could have asked for. Too bad he's not ten turns younger though." she added with a resigned sigh.
"He's cute though," replied Teseada. "Could have been worse. I was just getting somewhere with that cute brownrider in the Weyrleader's wing, when my father came over. Kind of ruined the moment if you know what I mean."
Karri giggled as she threw a heap of clothes onto the bed, not bothering to keep them folded. "At least you _had_ a moment. I went to U'kaiah hoping he'd take pity on me. So have you not had a chance to practice yet?"
"Well I did sneak in a kiss with him," admitted the gold weyrling. "He said he'd try and meet me next restday, I just can't work out if it's because of Onnyth though, if I'd talked to him before, would he have listened?"
Karri pursed her lips, unsure if she should even mention it, but deciding that _she_ would want to know if it was her... "It's probably nothing, but I heard a bronze and brown rider joking in the dining hall a couple of days ago. They were talking about how with all the new gold riders in the weyr, they had better start making the rounds. I heard one of them say 'one down two to go'."
"You're kidding? Right?" Teseada was really hoping that was the case, but Karri's face spoke volumes. "Maybe that's why my Dad came over then, maybe he heard it too."
"It was probably just talk." Karri tried to dismiss it, "I heard a bluerider claim he bedded an entire _wing_ when I first got here...
people just talk."
"With some of the blueriders you never know. There's one or two you could believe it from." Teseada got serious for a moment, "Maybe Y'nub isn't like that."
The greenrider sat down on the bed and gave her friend a reassuring shoulder squeeze. "I hope not. But you know... you've got time to find out. I had to give up and just find _somebody_, cause greens can rise quickly after they've reached full growth. Onnyth probably has months and months before she's ready to rise, so you can make him go slow if you want." "She'll be ready before me most likely," replied Teseada.
Karri grinned, she definitely knew the feeling... "Well, I can recommend U'kaiah if you just want to get it over with and stop worrying about it. He was _very_ good, and you don't have to worry about ulterior motives with him." "I guess not."
"Now come on," Karri said, giving her friend a playful shoulder to shoulder nudge, "Are you going to help me move this thing, or am I going to have to invite U'kaiah back here again?" "Of course I'll help."
