"You insufferable little man!" All of Kamira's 5'4'' frame glared up at the much taller U'kaiah. She was well aware that 'little man' was a horribly inaccurate description, but she didn't care - today, that's what he was. Both U'kaiah's eyebrows raised, and a smile pulled at the corner of his lips, as he looked down at the young woman before him. "You of all people know _that's_
not true..."

"Don't try to charm your way out of this, bronzerider.
I've made up my mind to be upset at you and that's exactly what I plan to do!"

"Isn't your green a little _young_ to rise?" U'kaiah asked as he crossed his arms across his chest. He tried to keep the amusement out of his eyes as he asked, "Just what did I do to deserve your wrath? If it was slipping away early that morning, I told you that I had to go to Dolphin Cove for..."

"I'm not upset about you sneaking away." She adopted a more gentle tone. "I'm upset that you _still_ haven't learned to take care of yourself." She came further into U'kaiah's weyr and made herself a little more comfortable.

He rolled his eyes as he sat down next to her. "Well, I think I've learned my lesson. It hasn't exactly been fun, and I have had more people taking care of me than I would care for." "Good! Someone's got to keep your fool self out of trouble!" She had spenyt most of her fury, but some resentment still lingered along the edges of her tone.

U'kaiah couldn't help but smile. He was glad to know that her spirit had not been tempered by her new lifemate. The bronze rider also had to remind himself that she was effectively off limits. "I'm sorry I missed the Hatching."

"You're health was more important this time, U'kaiah.
I would have been even more angry at you had you attended and made yourself worse - though I would have loved the extra attention." He had to chuckle. "I bet you would have. But you're a weyrling now. Too much attention can be dangerous."

Kamira flushed more than a little. "That's not the kind of attention I meant..." She said in a small, unlike her voice. ** Being a weyrling is going to be a whole lot harder than I thought...**

"Ah," he said sympathetically. So she was feeling the restrictions too. "It passes so quickly you won't even realize it," he lied gently.

"Neither will you." She lied back in a low voice.

"We'll both have plenty to keep us busy," he said a bit more cheerfully. "Well, except me of course. Once I get back into the wing I'll busy again."

Kamira nodded. "Want to grab some food from the kitchens? I'm starved." She felt like changing the subject.

"That sounds like a very good idea," he said as he rose to his feet. There was no point dwelling on things that cannot be.
