Cortana

Cortana

X'amor smiled at the lively throng of dragonriders, harpers, and other people of the Weyr as he entered the Dinning cavern for a snack to take out to the lake with him after he finished scrubbing down his blue. He grabbed a few whole fruits, some sweet pastries, and cheese, wrapped it in a cloth napkin tightly and made his way to the lake.

As he set all his scrubbing implements and bundle of food down on the lake's beach he noticed a woman sitting a bit a way drawing in a sketch pad, at least he thought that was what she was doing.

He didn't know what it was, but he seemed to always notice women with green eyes, each woman's eyes being a completely different shade than the next, but all equally enticing. Her hair stood out to him as well.
He found it interesting to find someone with such purely black hair, seeing as they were in a Weyr that got plenty of sun through out the year.

He noticed that his dragon was flirting with some of the greens in the lake so figured the scrubbing could wait, "What are you drawing?" he asked as he made his way to the young woman, who looked to be about his age.

Cortana started from her sketching induced stupor.
She had been so involved in her work that she hadn't noticed the bluerider sneak up behind her. She looked up at him as he took a seat next to her, her stomach growling at the smell of the food. She hadn't realized it was lunchtime.

"Oh, here. What do you think?" She held up her sketchpad for him to look at. There was a picture of a half finished dragon, it looked like a green, even if there was no color, cavorting in the Lake. A few other faded dragon shapes were in the background, but it was obvious that the half finished one was the center of the piece.

She stuck her pencil up into her hair so it stuck out behind her head, the long black locks shoved into a hasty bun to keep the hair out of her face. She smiled as he took her sketchbook. "I'm Cortana."

X'amor raised his eyebrows in appreciation of the drawing, "You have quite a gift Cortana, I'm X'amor of one of those blue fellows out there named Calodith."
He noticed her stomach grumbling and smiled, "Are you hungry by chance? I've got some snaky stuff if you would like to share with me."

"Oh thank you. I was so busy sketching that I didn't notice the time." She smiled as she snagged a meatroll from his plate. "I ride the green whose enjoying her time with your blue. Her name is Anath."
Cortana explained as she talked around her food.
"And I'm not that great, I never took lessons or anything. It was just a fun hobby." She smiled at the complement. "Do you have any hobbies?"

He smiled at her hunger, "Yeah, I write songs. I'm not that bad at singing either." he shrugged, "I've _taken_ classes and I'm not that great." he smiled at their dragons, "If he gets too annoying just let me know, he's pretty sure of himself for a blue."

"Ha, Anath wouldn't know when a _bronze_ was being to sure of themselves, let alone a blue. She's too young to notice, or to care. She just learned that guys are much more than just a different color." Cortana smiled at her dragon's innocence. "I however, have known men to be _much_ more than that for quite some time." Cortana winked at the bluerider and slid closer to him along the beach.

X'amor raised an eyebrow and grinned. It would be a while before he got used to the fact that women liked more assertive men. And seeing as he was being more assertive than he usually was, Cortana's actions were understood. It just wasn't what women usually did around him. He could tell by her knots that she was a senior weyrling, a healer to boot. **What's with me and healers?** he thought as he decided what to do about this new and interesting opportunity.

He decided to be daring. He leaned himself closer to her, putting his right hand down on the beach behind her, "And there's no man that wouldn't be able to see that you're much more than just any ordinary young woman..." He let his amber flecked eyes catch her green ones as he spoke keeping her from turning away from him as he held her gaze.

Cortana looked into his eyes, they were quite something with their amber flecks, smiling sweetly up at him. "Your too kind," she smiled. She looked into his eyes a moment more before she broke her gaze taking her discarded sketchpad and shuffling through it.

"I have something to show you." She turned to a particular page in the book. She held it up. It was of X'amor and Calodith, X'amor's arm wiping against his brow as he rubbed oil into his dragon's hide.
"What do you think? I did this the other day. You're pose was just too good to pass up." She smiled warmly at him. "You can look through it. There's a few more of you and Calodith, and others. I just can't seem to keep the pencil out of my hand."

X'amor leaned away a bit, momentarily discouraged by her quick change of subject, but intrigued by her drawings. They were incredibly detailed, "I didn't know you had noticed me," he commented as he found the second of the drawings of himself.

"Oh your not hard to miss bluerider. I've seen you around before." She leaned in close, making sure her loose shirt hung just so, giving a good show of her breasts. She knew she was teasing, knew he had been ready to go further before, these abrupt mood swings were her favorite way to play with men.

X'amor didn't miss the view, "Well, your br..beauty, are..is hard to _not_ notice." he stumbled over his words. Surprised by his suddenly intense need for the young woman sitting next to him he took a deep breath and swallowed in a failed attempt to calm himself. It was a strange feeling, knowing someone had noticed him. He had always thought that people hadn't thought much of him because he hadn't made an effort to think much of them. But Cortana's words and apparent interest boosted his ego, making him much more aware of her as well.

"Oh is it?" Cortana asked, feigning innocence, and leaning in that much closer. If he didn't kiss her soon she would have to. Sometimes, she'd noticed, men needed a bit more persuasion than her body could give.

X'amor could understand her motives now, and didn't necessarily want to turn her away, but this was almost new to him, almost. His hand was on the verge of shaking from excitement and nervousness, but once his fingers came in contact with her soft jaw he became more confident. So he quickly moved his lips to hers, his hunger for her intense, having not been with anyone in quite a while.

Cortana was slightly surprised at the hunger in his kiss. She returned it eagerly, glad he had taken her hint. They kissed for a while, parting only far enough to breath. "You know what?" Cortana said after one very passionate kiss, "I'm not very hungry anymore." She wondered if he would bring her to his weyr, or if she'd have to drag him to hers.

X'amor smiled at her comment, "Yeah, neither am I." he looked around him, his hand was deep in the sand from supporting them both while their lips had been locked. "I've never found sand the best place for kissing," **or doing other things...** "why don't we make our way to my weyr?" His heart was still beating fast, making his voice rather breathy as his body naturally tried to calm its self.

Cortana smiled up at him, "I would be delighted to join you in your weyr." She stood up and dusted herself off, lending a hand to get X'amor off the ground. "Lead the way."

He took her hand and pulled himself up, "Okay then,"
and offering her his arm he made sure they had picked up their things and lead her off to his weyr.
