Birigundi

Birigundi

Laughing breathlessly, Nialyn twirled once more under Birigundi's arm before the song ended with a rousing flourish. Tucking her arm into his, she grinned and applauded with the rest of the party-revelers on the dance floor. A group of dragonriders called out a request, and even though she absolutely _loved_ this next song, if she didn't sit or go out and catch a breath of fresh air soon, she'd surely collpase.
Leaning up, she asked, "Can we go out for a bit, Biri?"

"Sure," he smiled, not yet winded. Birigundi had tried to take it easy on Nia, considering the great weight she was now carrying in the front.
Putting a hand protectively on the small of her back, he gently lead her towards the door. "Where shall we go?"

"Out in the hall, maybe?"

"Hmmmm. You know what kinds of dangerous things happen out in the hall, don't you," Birigundi grinned, tickling her sides teasingly.

Grinning back, she found herself blushing. "Maybe...."

"I see." He twirled her up against a wall and kissed her soundly.
"Perhaps we should skip the hall and find your weyr instead..."
he murmured against her lips when he finally pulled back.

She reached up to stroke his hair, the look in her eyes amused--and wanting. "Eager, are you?"

"For you?" He asked with his most charming grin. "Always."

Nialyn took his hand. "Come on, then."

"My my," he chuckled as he allowed her to lead him down the hallway towards her weyr. "Eager are you?"

She slanted him a teasing look before brushing her cheek against his arm. "Always for you."

It was amazing how that really wasn't a line. He really did love spending time with Nia, despite her growing stomach. Shards, maybe even _because_ of her growing stomach, and what he knew was inside it. Part of him wondered if he'd find Rigella this attractive as her pregnancy progressed... But he didn't want to think about that now. He just wanted to get Nia into her weyr, onto her bed, and out of all their clothes.

Nialyn wasn't quite so sure who was more eager tonight: her, or Biri.
And as she found herself gazing up at him from her sprawled position on the bed, she found that it didn't much matter. There was a fire rushing through her veins now, and she didn't want to _think_ about anything else except for him. Tugging at his shirt, she licked her lips, amused as he began to wrestle with her skirts. They both certainly weren't wasting much time!
Shards! Biting back a grin, Nialyn kissed him.

Her skirts were now a tangled mess kicked to the foot of the bed along with his tunic and pants. Things were just about to get really interesting when green blur darted past Birigundi's face. "What the..."
The green flit perched on the pillow next to the rather surprised woman and looked at Birigundi almost accusingly, chattering away forcefully.
"Leaf, what in Faranth's..." Then it hit him. It wasn't Leaf. At least, not _his_ Leaf. It was Rigella's Fellis Leaf... **Shards...**

"Shards, Biri," Nialyn laughed breathlessly, flopping back against the sheets, tugging on his arms. "What a terrible time for her to bug you.
_Us_!"

Birigundi allowed her to pull him closer, as closer as he could get with her belly between them. But his eyes never left the flit. Why _now_?!
And that little green creature wouldn't stop chattering away! His desire to stay with Nia was warring with his sudden fear for Rigella.
He had promised to come when she really needed him, and looking at the worried swirls in the little green's eyes, he could tell this was one of those times. What if she was in that dark place again? What if she tried to hurt herself? Or the baby? "Nia, that's not my flit."

She opened her eyes. "What? Then whose is it?"

He rocked back on his knees and smiled apologetically. "I have a friend whose father died not long ago. I promised that I'd be there for them if they ever really needed me, especially after they tried to jump off the Plateau. I guess something has happened. The greens come to find me because her owner needs me."

"...Oh." Trying to shove away that rash feeling of disappointment--not to mention her lust--she rubbed her forehead. Shards...of all the times... Wait. "Jump off the Plateau?"

"Yeah, it was a _stupid_ thing to try. But I guess grief can do that to people," he sighed as he reached down to find his tunic. "Shards, Nia, I really don't want to go." But...

Looking down, she sat up. "I really hope he's okay, Biri..."

"Me too." Choosing not to correct her assumption of 'he', he helped her sit up. It was harder now that her belly had grown. Kissing her softly he whispered, "I promise Nia, I'll come back as soon as I can. I want to be here with you."

Brushing the tip of her nose gently against his, she bit her lip and looked away again. "And...I want you to come back," she whispered, hoping to Faranth that he would. Shards...she wanted to be with him so much tonight. To bring in the new Turn with him. It was important to her, she realized. So important, and she really couldn't understand why.
