Description: N'kalen meets his new Wingsecond and they have a discussion.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 13, day 5 of Turn 3

K'deren

N'kalen took a deep breath before walking into K'deren's office. "You asked to see me?"

"Take a seat N'kalen," said the brownrider as he signed a stack of hides. "I won't be a moment."

N'kalen lowered himself into a seat and waited for K'deren to finish.
**What could the wingsecond possibly want with him?**

"It's nothing to worry about," assured the wingsecond as he completed signing the reports.

"Yes, Sir, thank you." N'kalen relaxed and observed K'deren. The brownrider appeared to simply be performing standard busy work.

After a moment, K'deren looked across at the bluerider. "I noticed you have your knots as a Journeyman dragonhealer," he began, waiting for a reaction from the other man.

N'kalen's mind spun. "Yes Sir, I do. I have kept up with my studies in what little free time I have."

"Good," noted the Wingsecond. "Have you given thought to looking into further training?"

"No Sir, I have not. I didn't think it would be possible with the time constraints I have caring for Myanth and flying Fall. I would be interested in following up on that option." N'kalen relaxed as he warmed to the subject. He cared very deeply about his craft.

"I see," K'deren said. "I'm sure you know how vital a discipline dragonhealing is, and anyone with any interest or talent should be encouraged."

"I enjoy working with the dragons very much." N'kalen leaned forward a little. "Anything I can do to further my education would be wonderful.
I do try to study on my own, because of my studies I was able to walk the tables. But to keep studying and getting more training...That seems like a bit of a dream!"

"We need more trained people, the events of this turn prove that. And as we do have a couple of senior journeymen here, one is a Wingsecond and doesn't have perhaps as much time. However, there is another who could oversee a training plan, if you were interested."

"I would be quite interested Sir. Advancing my studies is always on my list of things to do!"

"I'll put it to him then, since he got his Mastery, I'piod has asked that we point likely people in his direction."

"Thank you Sir, very much."

"I'll have his green speak to your blue."

"That will be great Sir. Thank you again."

"Not a problem N'kalen."

"Will that be all Sir?"

"Yes it will. You're dismissed. Welcome to the wing."

"Thank you Sir." N'kalen stood and exited the office. **Things are about to get more interesting!*
