"I'm glad my father didn't put you off the other day," said Teseada as she looked up as the bronzerider sat next to her. "I thought he might have."
"Nah," Y'nub waved off the idea, "Fathers don't scare me. Besides, you're a grown woman who can make up her own mind on things."
"So they say," she replied teasingly. She'd learned enough to try and at least flirt with him.
}:You are grown, _We_ are grown,:{ stated Onnyth.
"So..." he said slyly, casually draping his arm over her shoulders, "I still have you for the remainder of the rest day, right?"
"You do," she said enjoying the feeling of closeness that his arm gave her. She snuggled into it a bit. "I have no plans."
He smiled down at her and gave the top of her head a quick kiss. "Well _I_ do. And it involves you and me and a picnic overlooking a river.
How does that sound?"
"Sounds fantastic," she smiled, he face lightening a great deal. Maybe Karri really had got it all wrong. If Y'nub was just after one thing, he'd not be going to this much trouble, would he?
She sure was pretty when she smiled... Y'nub gave her another squeeze with his arm and then released her, bending over to retrieve his satchel and a scrap of hide from the floor. "So, tell me _all_ your favorite picnic foods. I have no idea what sort of things you like, and I want this to be perfect."
"Well, sweetrolls. Bubbly Pies, those nice meatrolls with the currants in, you know the ones I mean," she began. "Cheese, those cheesy things that the cooks made last week were fantastic."
"Wait, wait!" he laughed as he hastily scribbled her list down on the hide, "I can't write that fast!"
"Sorry," she apologized. "But you did ask."
Y'nub chuckled, "I did, didn't I." he finished scribbling and gave the goldrider an appraising look, "Now are you a wine girl or an aler?"
"Wine," somehow that sounded a little more... sophisticated, more like a goldrider should be.
He stuffed the scrap back in his satchel and dropped it to the floor.
"A girl after my own heart," he nodded approvingly.
"So where are we going then? Am I allowed to know that?"
Y'nub grinned and stood up, giving Teseada's nose a playful push.
"I've already given you a hint... by a river. Meet me in an hour on the Plateau?" That should give him enough time to raid the kitchens and grab some blankets from his weyr...
"I think we can manage that," she smiled at him. Shards, he was so good looking. It was hard to believe he really wanted to spend time with her.
