Ah, Turn's End. Ishek had been worried about this day, and the closer the celebrations arrived, the more nervous he got. He had to do _something_ to get his mind off of it. He scribbled a quick note saying that Kiomo should come see him, and then spent a few minutes coaxing Yimas to wake up and move from the nice patch of sunlight. Finally he attached the note to the flit and sent him off. Then he sat down, forcing himself not to fidget. He wasn't nervous. Really.

"I got your note," Kiomo smiled as he walked into the Lord Holder's office. He had only been back at the Hold for a couple candlemarks and he was exhausted in every possible way. But he really didn't mind being called to Ishek's office. In fact, he was anxious to talk to him. "I brought you a souvinier from Sapphire Meadows."

"Really?" Ishek asked, sounding almost like a child informed they were getting a present. But it wasn't dignified to act like that, so he quickly composed himself. "I hope I haven't inconvenienced you so soon after your journey," he added. "We could talk during the festivities if you'd prefer?" He wasn't exactly sure how long Kiomo had been back.

"No, actually, I would like to tell you about my trip," Kiomo smiled as he pulled a bottle out from behind his back. "But first, how about a glass of Sapphire Meadow's finest whiskey?"

"I would enjoy that." Ishek said. "Your trip- did it go well?"

"Yes. In fact, I think I may have found a lead." Kiomo walked around the desk to find glasses for them both. "I remembered Perina said something about being fostered at Sapphire Meadows Hold. It turns out she was sent back sooner than they had planned. And there are rumors about what would have caused her swift departure."

"Ah, so that's why you went there." Ishek said. "And what were those rumors?"

"That Perina was seen alone in the company of a stable hand a little more than her father and her guardians were comfortable with. Enough so, in fact, that she was quickly and quietly returned to her home. And the stable hand transfered." At that Kiomo frown slightly. That was the next problem he had to over come. Just _saying_ there were rumors about a stable boy might not be enough. Still, it was a promising lead.

"So you believe it might have been the stableboy, and she's trying to pin it on you?"

Kiomo handed the Lord Holder a glass. "Well, considering it _wasn't_
me, Ishek, I'd say it sounds pretty likely. Or at least he can testify that she is not exactly as pure as new fallen snow." Of course, that alone didn't exhonorate him. He needed to find the stable boy.

Ishek took a drink. It was very nice. "This is wonderful." he commented.
He considered the matter. "Do you know where he is to testify?" he asked.

"Well, like I said, the boy has transfered. And as I'm sure you can guess, no one was very interested in my finding him." Kiomo twirled his own glass in his hand, watching the swirling liquid. "I'm going to contact my family and see if they couldn't help me. I think it would be better if you were not involved, seeing as you're supposed to be impartial."

"You think your family has the contacts you need to find him?" Ishek couldn't say he found the idea of looking around for a stableboy who may or may not have been illicit with someone's daughter appealing. Then again, the entire situation was bad. And he rather liked the idea of staying out of it, not just to avoid looking biased but because he truly found it all distasteful. "And I agree I should stay out of it- but you will let me know if you have any luck in finding the boy, won't you?" It would be a shame if Kiomo was unjustly tarred with the brush of scandal.

"Of course," Kiomo chuckled, "I won't find him just to hide him. I'll be screaming from the hills that he's been found. I have every confidence he will be found. My family has always been very resourceful."

"I wish you good luck with finding him and exonerating yourself. You are quite the valuable assistant." Ishek said, finishing the last of his glass.

Kiomo was ready to politely fill it again. "Thank you. I appreciate your support in this Ishek. Truly." The holder added a bit more to his glass as well.
