Kitalina smiled as her favorite patient entered her office and layed down, as he usually did, on the couch. "You look tired J'klin, how have you been sense we last talked?"
"I'm doing fine, it's just that day after threadfall tiredness you get sometimes." J'klin waved it off as he tucked his hands behind his head on the couch. "I almost screwed up though lastnight. Almost..."
Kit raised an eyebrow, "Realy? What happened?"
"Well after Threadfall, some of the Wing got together to play cards and relax." he explained. "One of the girls passed me a mug of ale and I almost drank it. It was really kind of strange because I hadn't wanted a drink in a long time, but as soon as it was in my hand I just _had_
to drink it."
The mindhealer nodded, inviting him to continue, "So how did you control yourself?"
J'klin sat up and looked at the red headed mindhealer. "I did what you said," he explained eagerly, "I closed my eyes and took three long breaths, telling myself that I didn't need it, that I was strong, and could control my actions. When I opened my eyes again I just passed the mug back and said no thanks!"
Kit grinned at his eager joy. Her dark blue eyes smiled proudly at her favorite patient, "That's wonderful J'klin! You've made so much progress since you first started visiting me." She grinned again, "I'm very proud of you."
"Why thank you." he replied and added modestly, "But if it wasn't for you I'd never have gotten anywhere, you've been a lifesaver you know that?"
Kitalina shook her head, "I didn't do anything but guide you." she smiled, "You were the one to actually apply my guidence. My words and suggestions are useless, pointless with out someone using them, applying them. You've helped yourself. Don't forget that."
"I won't." J'klin said with a nod, "Let's just see how it goes next time."
Kit nodded in agreement, "It's best to be cautious, but I really think you have progressed well, and I'm confident that you will only be getting better from now on."
"You know, you've been wonderful." J'klin said after a moment. "I didn't put much stock into all this mind healing when I first started, but you've put up with alot from me, and I really do appreciate it."
Kit blushed slightly. She wasn't used to so much praise from anyone, but she was particularly sensitive to what he said to her directly. "Well, I'm very glad that I could help you J'klin." **It was definately worth getting to just be in the same room as you.** She had been shuffliing through her hides nervously as she recieved his praise so that when she responded she looked through her long dark lashes up to him.
"So, you said we were going to start spacing my sessions out more. I can't say that I feel the same as I did before," J'klin said a bit slowly, "but I do feel better than I did, so I think I'm ready."
The mindhealer kept her self from grinning too much, "I'm glad you feel more comfortable about it. It's a big step learning that you can survive on your own." she said the last bit seriously but with a hint of teasing.
