he wanted.
Location: Dolphin Hall
Date: month 1, day 15 of Turn 4
Trellyn slipped her footwear under her bed and started towards her dresser to change for sleep when she heard a knock at her door. She guessed it was Havilla, come to talk about the class she had traded with her so she could distance herself from Ednan, and opened the door to let the woman in.
"Hi Trellyn," Ednan greeted, holding a large bunch of flowers in his hand.
Her eyes went wide as she saw him, and they got even bigger when she saw the flowers. "What are you doing here?" she hissed. She took a frantic glance down either side of the corridor and then pulled him inside, quickly closing the door. "Did anybody see you?"
"I came to see you. I don't think so." Ednan replied her questions. His expression could only described with words: love-struck puppy.
Now that they were safely inside her quarters where no one would see them, Trellyn's heart softened as she looked first at his face and then at the flowers. "You can't be coming up here Ednan, you know that."
"I know, but I can't keep away either," Ednan said softly.
Trellyn sighed, why did he have to talk like that? It made it so hard to be resolute, "You know if anyone found out about what happened..."
"It wasn't our fault, was it?" Ednan asked.
She gave him a small smile but resisted the urge to reach out to him.
"We could have stopped if we had wanted to... firelizard lust isn't _that_ strong. We made a mistake and we can't let it happen again, it's just not appropriate."
"But..." Ednan started but then fell silent, because he didn't know what to say. He wanted to tell her how special it had been, how special she was to him, but his tongue stuck.
Trellyn couldn't help herself, she had to touch him. She reached up and gently caressed his cheek, hoping her touch would give some solace to their situation. "Oh Ednan, don't look at me that way, it's not fair."
"It isn't fair, you're right," Ednan said. Her touch was almost too much to bear. He just wanted to hold her and kiss her. First time in his life, the young man found himself in love.
She dropped her hand, she shouldn't have touched him, it was only making things harder. "We can't see each other again Ednan, it's too hard. Whenever I see you I want to kiss you and touch you and to have you touch me... and we just can't!"
Ednan just nodded, he knew the feeling. Being separated from her was pain, being close to her was another kind, sweeter pain.
"You better go." Trellyn said as she looked past him at the door.
Ednan nodded again, heart full of misery and left.
