Fishing for Love- Tugged (3/4)

Writers: Anna, Draconafin
Date Posted: 28th January 2007

Characters: Az'uka, X'amor
Description: Az'uka attempts to explain to X'amor
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 2, day 1 of Turn 4

X'amor was almost surprised to find himself in his weyr. He didn't remember making his way through the Dolphin Hall, crossing the beach, following the trail up to the Weyr or making his way to his weyr, but he had.

}:X'amor, why are you so upset?:{ Calodith rumbled from his ledge. As much as the blue had enjoyed resting on the sand he had flown to his weyr during the night to sleep more comfortably. }:I don't understand why you are so angry she has mated with someone else. You have mated with others, but that's part of the problem too right?:{ The bluerider sighed heavily. Sometimes he hated how sensible and to the point his dragon was. **I trusted her to love only me, _me_!** The bluerider grabbed his toiletries and headed to the community baths hoping that it was early enough that not many people were there.

}:Do you love only her?:{ the dragon countered. The blue couldn't grasp the idea of love, it was something that only plagued humans but he tried to understand so he could help his lifemate.

X'amor almost growled at the question as he took off his clothes at the bath. No one else was there yet, which he was grateful for. **I _love_ her!
Why else would I be so upset?** he retorted, not quite answering the dragon's question and the blue knew it.

The Blue repeated his question, }:But do you love _only_ her?:{ The thuroughly confused rider slid into the warm water of the bath and thought. **I've never felt anything close to what I feel for Jenasie. No one else has come close. But I have feelings for other people, I care for other people like B'vin and Eleada. Cortana was mostly just a one time thing I think...** he shook his head as he scrubbed himself down, **I don't know Cal...I want to love only her, but if I do that I want her to only love me...** But he didn't continue his thought because someone else came into the bathing room. X'amor looked up, paled, then felt his anger surface again. It was the rider that he had caught Jen embracing.

Nilzuth had quietly followed what Az'uka had asked of him and had kept track of the Dolphin Cove Weyr bluerider as he made progress away from the Hall. Az'uka had thanked him once or twice already after he'd left the company of his sister, the Dolphineer had not been in the best of moods after that. While he was nota local of the Weyr finding his way around ahd proved easy enough, only having to get a general idea on where to go once. He made his way to the bathing chambers, which according to his blue was where X'amor had headed.

}: Are you sure you're doing the right thing, I mean interfering and all?:{ Nilzuth questioned from his loft perch.

**This is my sister we're talking about, I'll not see her heart broken by any man...** He returned when he entered the chambers, not being a resident of the Weyr he did not have any of his toiletries or anything of that like with him. Needless to say he looked quiet out of place in bathing chambers with his riding gear on. Az'uka and Jenasie may have siblings but they did not look alike, where she was delicate in build he was lean. Jenasie looked like their mother with her brown curly hair and bright green eyes and Az'uka looked like their father with his tall statue and black hair, his own bright blue eyes seemed to come from no where recent within his bloodline.
Scanning the bathing chambers his eyes came to rest on what appeared to be the only other occupant, with those charcoal eyes, even narrowed in hatred as they where there was no mistaking the man, X'amor.

"Do you have a moment X'amor?" He asked in a measured tone, that displayed none of his own anger simmering beneath the surface. The words he chose where aimed at being polite, not exactly in the mood to stir a fight with his fellow dragonrider.

X'amor was disgusted with himself as he realized he was giving the bluerider a once over, and even more so when he realized he didn't exactly have a problem with what he saw. **Shards! There I go again!** Outwardly though the inner turmoil could barely be noticed, especially in the dim light of the bathing chamber. "Sure." he grunted as he made it obvious he wasn't going to get out of the bath. The other rider could feel uncomfortable with getting in the water with him, he didn't really care.

**So much for politeness** Az'uka muttered to himself and reached for some of the straps on the front of his riding jacket, if X'amor wasn't going to come out then Az'uka was prepared to go to him, even if it meant stripping to bath and jumping /between/ still wet. Piece by piece the bluerider's clothing came off, and soon he stepped into the bath with X'amor, the whole time though he was thinking of the words best used in this situation. He leaned back against one side and pretending to be more relaxed than he was he closed his eyes, "From what I understand you quiet like Jenasie."

X'amor nodded, but realized that the other man couldn't see that so he cleared his throat, "Yeah, probably a little more than just like, and I would normally say it was none of your business, but since you seem to have an interest in her as well I guess you think it is."

The words reached Az'uka readly enough and he mulled over them, **More than you realize** was his reply to X'amor's statement on weather or not it was his business. "Its only my business when you break her heart" The blue rider returned.

"She broke mine first." X'amor retorted. He hated sounding like a little kid trying to blame someone else for his trouble but he didn't feel much like acting mature either. "Seeing you two," he paused his anger rising, "it made me hurt more than you could imagine."

Anger simmered at the retort he received, him and Jenasie not _sharding_ likely. His eyes snapped open again and flicker of anger flashed over them. "Seeing us two..." Az'uka used X'amor's explanation as a question back at him. "_Shards_ X'amor, she's my sister" came the exasperated statement.

X'amor had been ready to verbally attack the other rider but he faultered,
**sister?** "Shards..." he moaned. He felt like a complete idiot and continued to let out a few other curses aimed at himself.

He raised an eyebrow at X'amor hearing the muttering of curses the bluerider was engaging in and he realized, "She never _Sharding_ told you..." He muttered loud enough to be heard by the other dragonrider.

X'amor shook his head, "It's not that," he grumbled, "I didn't bother to let her explain." He leaned his head back against the rim of the bath and let out an exasperated breath, "But like you said, she never told me she even had any siblings...I guess we haven't talked about our families yet."

Az'uka looked over at him, "Well it would seem then that my timing might have been rather inconsiderate, however I can tell you that she only has me as a sibling" The words came easily, partly from wanting to put his fellow bluerider at ease. Knowing now that the outburst was nothing more than a misinterpretation he was willing to let everything sort itself out again.

X'amor sighed and nodded in acceptance, "I'm sorry I implied that you were someone you aren't." He got himself up and moved nearer the other rider, "I'm X'amor by the way, I'm sure you knew that but I felt like I should introduce myself." **Even if I'm completely naked and just made a fool of myself.**

He flashed a smile at the other bluerider and offered his hand in a shake of friendship. "Az'uka, I'm pretty sure you might have heard that before. I've got no issues with starting off on the right foot this time though" He said with a joking tone.

X'amor smiled, he liked the other rider's attitude, as he shook Az'uka's hand. When they released their grips he sighed again and ran a hand through his hair, "I guess I should go apologize, huh?"

This time Az'uka chuckle "Now that would be a good idea, a word of warning though, she's quiet good at throwing things and hitting people"

X'amor grinned at the other bluerider, "Thanks, that's good to know. I'll try and make sure their aren't any sharp objects aroud when I find her." He pulled himself out of the water and sighed feeling somewhat better but dreading the possibility that Jen might not forgive him. He began toweling off then spoke once again to Az'uka, "Thanks for finding me."
