"I can't believe it!" S'rak exclaimed as he watched the runners cross the finish line and start to trot over to the pens. "You picked the winner again!"
The greenrider laughed lightly. "I knew it when I looked at them. And as that one reminded me of my Spark, I had to bet on him."
He shook his head, still in disbelief, "I could have swore mine was a sure one to win. But you've proven yourself my dear, I'll never bet against you again!"
"Never?" she teased.
S'rak shrugged, "Well, until you start losing me marks... then I'll have to reassess the situation."
"I'm sure I'd be able to persuade you otherwise," she rose to her feet from where they had been sat. "Want to help me spend my winnings?"
"Help you?" he teased as he gave her his hand to help her down the bleachers, "I am absolutely certain that you will have no problem spending, but I would be more than happy to accompany you during your shopping."
"Someone to carry the packages!" She grinned. "Seriously, I was after a new dress for gathers, and there might just be some stalls over there that can help."
S'rak offered her his arm as they walked in the direction of the dress stalls. "Do I get to watch as you try them on?"
She took his arm, "Maybe we could have a private showing later, if you'd like?"
"Ah, now that's not as fun!" the bronzerider pouted, "I want to see you getting in and out of the fifty dresses you'll try on before you pick one."
"Ah, but think of the fun you'd have helping me in, and _out_ of them."
He shook his head, "Now there will be no helping you _in_ to anything once we're back at the Weyr... just _out_."
"Perhaps I should buy something special to wear under the dress, to make things far more interesting..."
"Oh! S'rak said, surprised, "Maybe I should amend my decision... yup, I amended it. We'll do all the shopping you want and once we get back to the Weyr I want you to try on all the various things you buy."
"Then I'll definitely get something special."
