Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 7, day 25 of Turn 3

E'naer saw the little girl (little from his point of view) struggle with a heavy bucket full of meat. Few long striders took him to her. "Hi. Denala, was it? Need a help with that?," he greeted and asked. "Thanks," Denala sighed, handing it over. She knew the work was improving her, building up her muscles, but some moments the thought of lifting her arm alone seemed too much.

"So, how does being a dragonrider feel?" E'naer asked, carrying her bucket towards the row of hungry, waiting hatchlings.
"And which one of these little ones is yours? I don't remember yet which rider and which dragon is pair."

Denala headed for her dragonet. "This is Veiyath," she said, stopping in front of the little green. "She's pretty medium-sized as far as the greens go, but you can recognize her because her head is a darker color.
And I think she glows." Her voice held great pride, though she wasn't exaggerating much. Veiyath's color did seem just the sort of limey green to stand out in the sunlight, with a darker tinge extending up her nect to her head.

"My greetings to you Veiyath, " E'naer greeted the little dragon and put the meat bucket down in front of her. "She is lovely," he commented to Denala. "And that must be your brother's" he pointed a dragon next to Veiyath.

"Yes, Padorath's already growing faster than the other bronzes. Maybe not by much, but we're very proud of him."

F'lik paused in his feeding, then turned, hearing his sister's voice. Seeing E'naer, he nodded. "Hello, E'naer."

"Hello, F'lik. You and Padorath having any problems?"
E'naer answered the greeting and asked.

"No problems to be reported, sir," F'lik replied. He'd been religiously following the every hint of his superiors, and it appeared to be paying off so far.
Padorath's bronze hide gleamed with health.

"That's good to hear. He certainly looks well cared"
E'naer smiled.

"Thank you." F'lik puffed himself up a little bit at the compliment, then returned to feeding Padorath, who had informed him that he preferred to receive compliments when he wasn't starving to death. Denala had started feeding her own dragonet. As Veiyath chewed, she asked E'naer, "How soon will we get past the strictly eating and sleeping phase? I know I've been told, but not much is sticking in my head these days."

"This phase takes about a month. Then she starts to eat less and you start to train in earnest. You learn firestone bagging, dragon toss and she starts to strenghten her flight muscles." Denala's eyes got a little wider. "Oh my. Well, at least it's only a month." She turned back to Veiyath who was beginning to complain about the interruption, and popped another chunk of meat into her mouth.
"Thank you again for your help," she said to E'naer. "Your welcome" E'naer replied and left to check other weyrlings.
