Characters: Fieayz, Matril
Description: Fieayz offers Matril a flit egg in exchange for a gift
Location: Smith Hall (NPC)
Date: month 2, day 2 of Turn 4

Fieayz was walking outside when she happened to pass the workshop used by the Glass smiths. As she walked past, she peered inside, spotting a young man there.

Matril sat at the mixing table, carefully measuring the chalk and charcoal into separate bowls. Clear glass was relatively easy, but colored glass was a bit more tricky. Once he found exactly the right shade of yellow, he'd be on his way, but right now it was a slow march.

"Hello," she said, hoping it wouldn't disturb him.

At the sound of the girl's voice, Matril jerked a little, spilling more charcoal than he needed into the bowl. Trying to repress the groan, he turned towards the door.

"I'm sorry," she said, "I was just seeing if anyone was here."

Fighting back his annoyance, Matril smiled at the girl. "Can I help you with something?"

"I was just looking," she said, her tone a little put out with his obvious annoyance.

"You interested in glass work?" he asked as he pour the charcoal back into its container.

"I've never seen anyone actually working on glass before now."

"I'd be more than willing to show you some day."

"What's wrong with now?" she asked, coming further into the workshop.
"You're working on it now, and I have some free time."

"As soon as I get this mix right, I'd be happy too."

"Can I watch?"

He brightened at the prospect. "Sure, my name is Matril."

"I'm Fieayz." As she introduced herself, she heard a sudden chirping sound as a golden flit landed on her shoulder. "This little beauty is Arva."

Matril gently scratched the gold's eye ridge, "a pleasure to meet you Arva, and you to Fieayz."

"She's happy to meet you too."

"Well, let me finish mixing the ingredients," he said. "Then we can get to the interesting part."

"It gets more interesting than mixing things?"

"It pretty much depends on your point of view," he answered. "If you are going for a certain tint, the mixing can be quite a challenge. But I'd much rather get beyond it to the actual blowing."

"What sort of shapes can you make?"

"Depends on your skill. Today I will be making a mug."

"Could you make me something?" she asked. "I, I can trade you one of her eggs for it."

"You're kidding! Really?"

"Really, I have a few eggs I need to find homes for. And it's nice to trade them."

Matril had trouble thinking straight about the whole thing. "Uh... Sure.
What would you like? 'member I am only an apprentice."

"Could you make some beads? For a necklace?"

"Sure, that it easy. Do you wnat any special colors?"

"How about something for my home, and something for here?"

"You have some little something of your own that you won't miss but will be special to your mom?"

"My Mother... she's at River Bluff," said Fieayz thinking aloud. "I have a brooch."

"Well, I can embed the broach in the base of the mug. This way, as she finishes the drink, she will be seeing your broach."

"That would be lovely," a smile brightened Fieayz's face.

"Well, good. Now, let me get this batch mixed so I get blow this mug."

"I'll see you later then, and I'll bring you the brooch, and an egg."

"That will be great," he replied. "And is you want, you can watch as I make the mug for your mom "Thanks Matril."
