S'ber wandered into the kitchen in the bit of free time he had. Food was on his mind, but few people were in the kitchens durring this time of the day. Children were in classes and adults were often off relaxing for a few moments. It was a perfect time for food.
What he found in the kitchens though was a woman who lookas though there were something intresting on the rock wall near the cealing. He stepped into her line of sight and realized she wasn't stareing at anything, and merely through everything.
It took a moment longer for Gaiya's eyes to come into focus on the young rider's face. She jumped as much out of embarrasement as surprise. "Oh shells, you scared me!"
S'ber smiled. "I was just wondering what was so intresting, sorry about scareing you."
"Sorry, I was daydreaming." Gaiya smiled guiltily, shaking her head free of spinners webs.
"I could tell." S'ber said leaning in close as though it were a secret.
He smiled again and went about getting himself some food. "Must have been good. Your certainly better at it then I am." He could never concentrate very well o his own day dreams when his brain had been trained to always listen to the conversations around him.
"It was a rather nice one," Gaiya sighed, "but I suppose its time I get my thoughts back to the present. What brings you down here?"
"One of my Best loved daydreams come to life. Food." He said holding up a meat roll he'd found, along with some slices of a different kind of bread and some vegtables of some sort in a brown sauce. It smelled wonderful anyway.
"Really, S'ber? Is that what your daydreams are made up of?" Gaiya was surprised that someone could spend time daydreaming about something so mundane.
"No Not really. Though they might as well be, with how much time I have to spend on it." There were certainly other, better, things to be daydreaming over than food, even with limited time.
Gaiya chuckled. "Things keeping you busy then? Good. It keeps you out of trouble."
"Hey now, I haven't been in trouble in a long time." S'ber pointed at her with a fork full of the vegtables and then ate it and smiled. "I haven't got time for that either."
"And just what keeps you so terribly busy?" Gaiya asked as she tore into a roll.
"Drills, Dylorth and occasionally women, but not often enough." The smile this time was more michevious than before, but only because he was half lieing. It was rare that he had time to feed himself properly and talk his way past just conversation with women lately. Ofcourse he could probably cut out all the extra time spent sleeping, butwhere was the fun in not sleeping until the very last second.
"And how often would be enough?" Gaiya asked innocently as she bit into a piece of the now shredded roll.
S'ber couldn't help but realize that Gaiya was eating much like Simay.
"You don't make that into neat piles when your done do you?" He had to ask and no sooner had he pictured his firelizard doing so in his head, than she showed up.
Simay, after landing akwardly scuttled her little clawed way toward the roll bits and began to shred them further.
"My my, when I've got people like you lovely ladys around shredding perfectly good food, I've no want for anything." He said this sarcasticly but with an obviously amused tone and gave the dark green flit her own bit of bread to play with.
"Did you teach her that trick then?" Gaiya asked, finding the flits antics equally funny.
"No, unfortunately I can't claim having taught her that one. That is simply just how she eats. Or does not eat, I haven;t figured out which."
They were very tiny bits of bread indeed and scattered all over the counter. "She'll make neat little piles out of it when she's done." He paused again as they both watched her make little bread bits. "I've even tried to clean up the crumbs before she makes mounds out of them, but that was a mistake I do not want to repeat."
Gaiya giggled at the little flits antics. "Well, I can say my feline doesn't do anything like that!"
"To each thier own. She's just always been that way." S'ber said with a shrug, unable to explain it even after the years they'd spent together.
She nodded her agreement. "We all have our little personality quirks I guess. Mine, as you already discovered, is excessive day dreaming."
"A quaility of the creative for sure." S'ber said, complimenting her while he devowered his food. Simay began making piles out of the tiny food bits.
"And one must be creative to work with children." Gaiya said with a nod as she finished ripping up her own piece of bread. She wondered why the little green made piles. Did it remind her sand and she was making a nest? Or did it somehow taste better that way? What would it be like to have a little flit like her?... Her eyes began to glaze over as she slipped into a nice mental image of what it would be like to be a firelizard making a nest of warm bread crumbs to lie in...
With three tiny mounds of bread bits, simay left. Leaping off the table and blinking /between/ to somewhere else. "Every time." S'ber said as he swept the bread bit piled off the counter and into his hand so they could be thrown away. No one he knew wanted to eat bread bits that had already been ripped appart by someone's firelizard, or atleast he didn't.
"I'm sorry, S'ber, did you say something?" Gaiya asked, startled out of her own daydream by the sound of his voice.
"Nothing important." S'ber said with a chuckle, searching for a trash bin to put the bread in.
"Oh," Gaiya replied with an appologetic smile. "I guess I was just doing it again."
