"Hon? Hon, it's me. I have your lunch," Cinale called from outside Daigoro's door before pushing it open. Carefully balancing the tray in both hands, she turned around and used her back to close it before coming inside.
"Oh you lovely, lovely woman," Daigoro grinned as he set his hidework aside. "Is it lunch time already?"
"Mmmhmm. I'm surprised you didn't know." Setting the heavily-laden tray down on the only part of the wooden desk that wasn't completely covered in hides, Cinale leaned forward to kiss her husband lightly on the lips. Wasn't your stomach telling you? Sometimes I think it has more sense than you do," she teased, gently patting his gut.
"The problem is it talks to me so much I've tried to stop listening to it," he chuckled as he reached for the fork. "You really have spoiled it, you know. I blame you entirely."
Stealing a small, fried tuber off of his plate, she grinned at him before popping it into her mouth. "But surely I don't deserve all of the blame. Some, certainly--but not all!"
"I was fit and handsome before I met you," he chuckled, batting her hand away before she could steal another.
"You were always fit and handsome, love," she told him, long fingers sneaking under his to snatch a buttered piece of asparagus. "And you still are." Grinning, she leaned back against the edge of his desk as she bit the top off. Licking the butter from her lips, she turned her head to glance at the sill where Fey and Wort usually slept--but they weren't there. Her brow creased slightly as she bit at the asparagus again. "Have you seen Fey today?"
"Last I saw Fey she was curled up all by herself up on the beam in the kitchen." Which was unusual. Usually she was curled up next to Wort, or Mulch if he was visiting.
"_Our_ kitchen? But she loves to be here at the Hall when we are."
Daigoro shrugged as he stuck the last asparagus spear in his mouth. "I don't know what to say, love," he said after swallowing. "She just...
doesn't feel like it today, I guess."
"Hmmm." Popping the last of her stolen asparagus in her mouth, she brushed her thoughts of Fey away. Silly creature. No doubt she'd come zooming in here later, demanding attention and treats. Shaking her head, amused at the thought, Cinale looked down at the hides Daigoro have moved to make way for his lunch. "Shards, hon. Weren't you working on this same stack yesterday?"
"Yeah," Daigoro sighed, his mind returning to the work at hand. "We're just... trying to delegate our resources. It's like trying to feed a whole Hall with one loaf of bread. You try to give everyone a little, but in then end no one will have enough."
Her expression was understanding as she pushed off from the desk. She only had to do hidework once a month--twice at the most. But Daigoro had to do it every single day... Cinale could understand his weary frustration. Circling around behind him, she gently trailed her nails through his silvering hair before settling her hands on his shoulders. "You don't have to go back to it all just yet," she murmured softly, giving his shoulders a gentle squeeze. "Let me work out some of this awful stiffness here, hmm?" Without waiting for his consent--she knew him well enough to know he'd _never_ say no to a back massage--she began kneading his tight muscles.
"You know, woman, I don't know what I ever did to deserve you," he groaned, amazed at just how strong those hands really were. Then again, she had spent half of her life kneading bread on a daily basis.
Cinale just smiled and leaned a little closer, moving her fingers over the curve of his spine, then back up again. She could feel her own flesh warming as she massaged her way down his arms. Did he have any idea just how handsome he really was? He tended to joke about being an older man with graying hair and a gut, and he commented on those attributes often enough where she wondered if a part of him really believed that he really wasn't so handsome. **But you are,** she thought as her hands moved over his broad shoulders, one resting at the back of his neck, fingers gently rubbing. Giving into the temptation, she closed her eyes and lowered her head, softly brushing the tip of his ear with her lips.
"Whoa," he jumped slightly, but covered it with a chuckle. Daigoro hadn't been expecting that one. "Find a knot there did you?"
His deep chuckle made a shiver of a delight run down her spine, and the slight warmth within began to slowly suffuse outward. "Mmmhmm." Her teeth lightly scraped against his ear and she nuzzled him just beneath the lobe, hands no longer kneading but gently caressing him through the shirt.
Shards...that tunic was awfully annoying, wasn't it? It was obstructing her fingers from making contact with his skin. And she suddenly realized that she wanted to touch his flesh, feel those muscles bunch and loosen beneath her fingertips. And if Cinale had been completely aware of herself, she might have thought twice before gently curling her hands beneath the hem of his shirt to caress his lower back, but there was no part of her that wished to hesitate for propriety's sake. None at all.
Her gentle touch felt like fire against his skin. His fingers reached up to curl into her hair but that sharding braid was holding it all tightly against her head! He wanted to dig his hands into those soft golden-red tresses, feel it tickle his arms and see how it framed her face just so. Shards, he wanted to do a lot of things at that moment. The way her lips and fingers caressed his skin it made him almost feel as he were...
**Flying?**
"Wort?" he whispered, suddenly putting two and two together. Fey's strange behavior, and now Cinale's odd, though absolutely stimulating mood, and now the feeling of Wort taking wing... "Cinale, love, can you feel Fey? Is she... rising?"
A moment of silence passed. Of stillness. "Yes," she finally whispered against his neck. Strange...she hadn't realized until now that what she was acting on was her little Fey's lusty emotions, but it made perfect sense. Chuckling, Cinale caressed one slender hand further up his back. "And she'll choose Wort."
"Like you chose me?" Daigoro asked with a smug grin. Turning his head to brush his lips against hers he whispered, "You know... the last time this happened... we weren't married yet..." Shards how frustrating _that_ had been!
"I remember..." She ran her nails through his hair. "We had nearly a month to wait..."
"But we don't have to wait anymore..." Daigoro wanted to just purr like a feline when she did that. "We could just... lock the door..."
A thrill ran through her at the very thought. It was an edgy idea--dangerous. But right now, that just made it all the more appealing.
Cinale didn't think she could bear it if she couldn't touch him this time, or kiss him. And to make love... Her blue eyes were bright as she leaned forward, her heart soaring on wing with Fey as she kissed him.
"Yes, love. Let's lock the door."
"I'll get it." The Hallsecond nearly tripped over himself as he rushed to the door. He almost wanted to giggle with glee at the thought of what he and his beautiful bride were about to do! They had never done anything that... erotic before! "Where should we...?"
Blushing, Cinale looked around. Wouldn't it be wonderful if he had a small couch in here! But he didn't... Her eyes drifted from the chair to his desk--and lingered on it. She pressed herself against him, rubbing her cheek along his shoulder as she pointed. "There?" she asked huskily.
"There works," he breathed, his heart pounding in his chest at the thought of something so very... naughty! "I'll just shove all that stuff off the end there then."
"Oh! But be careful with my dishes, Daigoro. Those are some of the Hall's best!" Cinale hurried over to help him clear the desk--and to make sure he hadn't broken anything important--her heart pounding faster as desire whipped through her.
"Right, dishes... Just throw all that stuff on the floor." He carefully picked them up and tried to find an out of the way spot. The chair was too dangerous. By the door. They'd be safe there. "Oh, wait!" he cried as she piled the hides and papers on the floor. "Where is the stack I was just working on? Those can't get mixed up with anything... Oh and the pile with the recruiting reports... Where did those go?"
"The pile you were just working on is that one," she told him, pointing. At least, she _thought_ it was the right one. Shards and shells....the desk couldn't be cleared fast enough! "And what in the name of Faranth does a recruiting report look like?"
"Oh shards, it doesn't matter, let's just get this desk cleared!" He could sort it out later. Right now he just wanted his wife in the worst way! Daigoro reached a long arm over the desk and swiped it clean, not caring as all the hides he had carefully piled up floated to the floor.
Her startled yip as he lifted her onto the desk quickly turned into a moan as their bodies pressed together. Good thing the sharding walls in this place were thick! She buried her fingers in his hair, mind reaching out to Fey's.
Yes, it was a very good thing that the walls were thick. A very good thing indeed.
