K'reyel

K'reyel

It was over, Vilarth had chosen her mate and the gold was entwined with the bronze as the pair glided back towards the ground.

The other goldriders had left the area, as had the Weyrleader. It wouldn't befit him to be involved in the flight of another gold. But the remaining bronze dragons had given chase, determined that they would try to catch the dazzling golden prize.

As Erdenth returned to the Weyr itself, weary and saddened that he hadn't managed it this time, his rider had other thoughts. K'reyel was beginning to regain control of himself, but he needed some release, and that could be pleasant indeed. There was a group of more than willing women close by, eager to 'help' the disappointed bronze and brownriders in the best way that they could, but that wasn't enough for K'reyel. "Mai," he muttered as he made his way back to the weyr they shared.

Mai would not be Weyr-born and bred as she was without knowing a gold had risen, and what that would mean for K'reyel. She waited, tensely, just inside their weyr. Erdenth could win the Flight, and if that was so, she would not see K'reyel for some candlemarks.

But he could lose. And then what? She thought that K'reyel would always at least try to come to her; she believed he would.

Either way, she would have to be ready.

An easy to slip out of robe was all she wore when he and Erdenth returned home; clearly Erdenth had lost.

"K'reyel?" she said softly, her eyes tracing his face and seeing the need there. "I'm here..."

"I need you," he muttered as he crossed the room to her, desire and lust heavy in his voice. "Can you help me?"

"Always, my love. Always." She felt her blood begin to heat at the naked lust in his voice, and in one motion, stepped out of the loose robe she had donned for just this purpose. He seemed almost himself, but she knew the first time would be ... frenzied.

She wrapped her arms about him, pressing bare flesh to his clothed, reaching to undo the fasteners of his breeches as fast as she could, offering her lips to be kissed.

An offer that he couldn't refuse. His lips met hers as he kissed her. There was not much of tenderness there, and the little control he had of himself he let go as his arms went around her. He revelled in her touch as he felt the last of his clothing loosened around him.

Stripping him completely, she broke the kiss, and pulled him to their bed. Her hands caressed him as they collapsed to the bed, gentle circles that would not stay gentle for long. Pulled atop him, she kissed her way down his chest, murmuring his name.

Sometime later K'reyel looked down at his diminutive weyrmate. "Thank you,"
he said softly.

Mai made a face at him, tapping his nose. "Thank you? For sleeping with my handsome weyrmate? That sounds so... wrong!" She laughed softly, kissing his cheek. "Mmmmm I should be thanking you."

"Thank you for being there when I needed you," he said after returning her kiss. "When dragons rise, you don't know what will happen, and you just knew where to be and when."

A hint of seriousness over-rode the playful smile etching her lips, and she nodded in understanding - and memory. They'd been down that path.

"No, love, you never do know what will happen. But I have learned one thing from loving you... you want to come home to me. So, all I had to do was wait. I believe in you, K'reyel. And the love we have for each other. Even if Erdenth had won...." She paused. "I think we always will, you know..." She paused again, trying to find the right words. She was feeling oddly nostalgic, but happy. "...we'll always come back to each other. To this love that is bigger than us both."

Arms tightening about him gently, a different, more teasing tone threaded under her words. "And do you have any more of that Flight lust to work off, K'reyel?" Her hands caressed down his side, tempting. She knew this time would be slow and wonderful, and she intended to make him remember every touch, and every kiss. For Turns to come.

"For you, always," was his reply as he kissed her. This time there was tenderness and love, as well as the last remnants of the dragon induced lust.

They awoke a few candlemarks later, still tangled together. It was his slight movements that had disturbed her, and she rolled up and over just a bit so she could look down at him. Often, it amazed her that he had chosen _her_ to share his life with, when he could have had any number of green... and gold... riders. She had no dragon to share his passions, nor any children - so far - to make his eyes light.

But love lay under every whispered word, every touch, every conversation, every moment they spent together. And she wouldn't trade it, even for a dragon.

Sated and happy, she began to hum softly, kissing his eyelids. "Are you awake, love?" She did not want to move; K'reyel had expressed himself in ways they'd never experienced together and she wanted to savor every mark, every memory. No one had ever made her feel the way he had just made her feel. Not even K'reyel before tonight.

"I'm awake," he said after a moment. "But sleepy though, you wore me out."

She grinned proudly at his comment, snuggling back down beside him.
"You wore _me_ out, K'reyel. But oh... I wouldn't trade this sleepiness for anything. That was .. remarkable..." She murmured in his ear as she lay back down with him.

"And maybe, just maybe," he said. "Maybe we made a baby as well."
There was always that hope.

She felt a lump form in her throat at his comment, and could not find in her heart to destroy his hope. She was sure she wouldn't ever bear him children. She shivered a little in his arms, not knowing what to say. What if she didn't conceive ever? Would he leave her? "We can always hope, love. I am certainly not taking any precautions to keep from conceiving. And that was so wonderful!" was all she could find to say. She would _not_ ask him if he would leave her. She didn't think he would, but at this moment in time, she didn't want a thing to disturb the wonderful way they were both feeling.

A dim hope burned in her heart, far far down. If ever a baby would be conceived, it would be from the way he'd just made love to her; full of tenderness, love, and passion.

If ever.

"No matter what, I'm here for you," he said feelign her reaction. "I love you, and it will always be you."

She smiled and closed her eyes again, relaxing against him. "I love you too, K'reyel." And maybe this time, there'd be a baby to share their love. Maybe this time, he wouldn't be disappointed.
