Hunted

Writers: April
Date Posted: 8th July 2007

Characters: Erilite
Description: Erilite feels that she is being followed.
Location: Garnet Valley Hold
Date: month 4, day 3 of Turn 4

Erilite maneuvered quietly through the bush. She had been working her way around the small clearing for at least a candle mark. She had heard voices in it and didn't feel like being noticed. Once around the clearing she quickly made her way deeper into the woods.

Hungry, that is what it felt. Deep amber eyes watched the two legged meat as it made its way. These same eyes watched every move. Muscled tensed and untensed as great paws padded the ground. Suddenly a twig snaps and both hunter and hunted stop and tense. The prey looks about with eyes as blue as a clear stream. Hair hangs in uneven strands. The prey is dirty and looks like it has been traveling for far to long. The hunter can smell the sweat that drips from firm limbs. Suddenly the hunted looks back. It has realized it is followed. With hesitant steps it moves toward an open place. The hunter's blood races, as it believes the hunt is coming to a close. It watches with impatient lust.
It can almost hear it's prey's heartbeat. Great muscles begin to bunch and tense as if for a pounce. Its prey is almost within reach. Saliva drips from sharp canines. Erilite nervously watched the trees. She had felt like being watched. She didn't like that feeling. She didn't like feeling exposed. She quickly took out her knife and prepared for the strike she knew was coming. As she stood there waiting for the strike that she felt would come, when she heard a sound from above. She watched as dragonrider flew over, a small fair of three firelizards with him. What the prey did notice as she watched the beasts in the sky was that the hunter had retreated. The large spotted feline did not like dragons.
Perhaps it will return to hunt this two legged prey another day.
