Description: Teseada goes to Karri after another unpleasant encounter with Y'nub

Teseada

"Teseada? What's wrong?" Karri asked as she ushered the goldrider into her weyr.

"Y'nub," she managed to say. The tears she had been holding back came out at last. "He's a stupid rotten tunnelsnake."

The greenrider closed the door and enveloped the girl in a big hug.
"Oh hon, what did he do now?" Why couldn't the man just leave her alone?

"I ran into him, and that vile friend of his again." The words were spat out.
"They, they were unspeakably rude."

Karri clenched her teeth in frustration, the fact that those two could even Impress disgusted her. "What did they say?"

"Reminded me that none of it was real, that it was all a bet." She wiped away a tear and sniffed. "Then that horrible one called me a fat wherry." She was aware that it almost certainly sounded like a child in harper classes complaining about name calling, but she wasn't that child any more, no way.

"He what!" Karri was shocked. Who in his right mind would call a _queenrider_ such a hurtful name? "Did you punch him? Or kick him?
Or tell Onnyth to flame him?" She was half teasing, but she was pretty sure she would have gotten physical if she had been there with Teseada.

"Can you imagine if I had?" Teseada almost giggled at the image that it produced in her head, tears forgotten for a moment. "I just wish I hadn't run off like that, I don't want them to think it'll happen everytime."

"Well next time you'll be ready for those tunnelsnakes." Karri said with a smile. "You had no way of knowing that you would have to ever defend yourself against such hurtful remarks."

"I shouldn't have to, but how can I show them that?" she asked.

Karri grinned, "Well you _are_ a gold rider. You've got to have some influence... maybe get the two assigned to help dredge the lake or something horrible like that?"

"Or back on weyrling chores again."

"Or sacking firestone." She could go on all day with unapeasing things to make those two do.

"Mucking out for dragonets!"

"Or better yet!" Karri said snapping her fingers, "What about we sneak in and put fire bugs in their bed furs!"

"Trundlebugs in their sweetsand."

"No," the greenrider said with a giggle, "itchweed in their sweetsand!"

"Sweetsand! That's it!" Teseada looked triumphant. "I've got it!"

Karri raised her brows and smiled, glad she could get her friend in a fighting mood, "What about sweetsand?"
