Teseada

Teseada

It was warm as the pair came out of /between/ within sight of the Technicians Hall. Teseada looked down over the hill with it's distinctive windmill on top and smiled.

** Let's go down to the courtyard, I can see it in front of the buildings.**

Onnyth didn't reply, merely glided down gently, settling herself in the sun.

Valenna smirked just a bit at the sight of apprentices and even a couple of the younger journeymen and women darting frantically out of the way of the massive golden dragon landing in the formally busy courtyard. Of course, it was hard to blame them, the Master Technician supposed. Something that big spiralling down where you're standing makes an impression.

She headed toward the dismounting rider calling, "Very nice entrance, goldrider Teseada, my compliments to your dragon." She'd been expecting the goldrider to arrive sometime soon to go over the prospectus for the project Teseada was planning for her Tables exam.

"Master Valenna," Teseada inclined her head in greeting s she began to unfasten her riding straps, before dismounting and stripping out of her heavy riding gear. "It's a lovely day here, much warmer than the Weyr. We've had snow already."

"The longer I can go without seeing snow, the happier I am. I had enough of that up North," Valenna replied with a smile. "Your flight was well? Is there anything your dragon requires before we go inside?"

**Onnyth?**

}:I will be fine, the sun is out and it is warm. For now, that's all I need.:{ "She'll be fine in the sun, I think she misses it right now, and letting her enjoy it is a treat. It was only a short flight, but worth it just to see the Hall proper again."

"Let's go inside then and take a look at your plans. I'll have an apprentice bring us something to drink as well." She gestured for the goldrider to accompany her into the Hall. "I was very intrigued by your idea when you wrote me."

"I hoped that you would be, and as anything to do with flamethrowers will benefit the Weyr and Pern as a whole. I'm glad that you were able to discuss it with me."

"Of course," the Master Technician waved dismissively, "I'm always happy to help, especially someone with so much promise." She stopped a boy and after asking what Teseada wanted, sent him off to the Kitchens to retrieve their drinks. "Let's go in here, shall we?" She pointed to a small workroom nearby.

"Of course." the work room was small, but it was light and airy and contained a large table. On that table, Teseada began to spread out her plans and drawings, ready to present to the Master.

}:Teseada?:{ interrupted Onnyth.

**Yes,** replied Teseada distractedly.

}:We have to stay here.:{
**What?**

}:Riyanth rises,:{ came the explanation.

Valenna watched as the goldrider stopped in the middle of laying out a diagram, the sheet halfway unrolled. Her expression was slightly vacant and her head tilted just slightly. The Master Technician had seen enough dragonriders in just such poses to know what it meant.
"Something wrong?" She asked, wondering what the goldrider's dragon had said.

"I, we, Onnyth and I, we need to stay here a while, there's a gold flight at the weyr. I can't take Onnyth back until it's over," explained the young rider. "There might be problems otherwise."

"Of course, of course," Valenna replied quickly. Everyone knew the sorts of horrible things that could happen if a golden dragon got too close to another gold during a mating flight. "How long do you think you'll need to stay over? If it'll be longer than what we'd scheduled for this," she indicated the diagrams, "I can get a room set up for you?"

"It might be two or three candlemarks," explained Teseada. "Onnyth will let me know."

"Ah, very well then. If you think it'll be longer, do let me know. The offer stands for a room while you wait. In the meantime, let's discuss this project of yours," Valenna smiled as she leaned over the topmost diagram and began examining the blueprint.
