She crept quietly through the hold. She didn't want to alert the hold gaurds. Her parents did not want her to go out to the yard. She knew it would anger them but she wanted to see the dragon and her rider. She stopped suddenly as she heard voices around a corner. One belonged to her betrothed. She hated him. He was an arrogant know it all. "This rider has come at an inconveniant time. We are still in negotiations." He spoke and she cringed. Even his voice anoyed her. She quickly moved on unnoticed. She watched as her father walked out of his office where he had been speaking with her betrothed. She ducked out a side door and into the court yard. She found herself a hiding place and watched her father with the rider. Her father didn't spend a lot of time with the rider before he walked back in side. The rider shook her head. there had not been a lot to chose from and she had only found on potential. This was not a very good search. }: There is still another here that would do good.:{ her green informed her.
** He says there are no others to offer Pon, I can't just take someone he has not offered for search.** She shook her head as she watched a shadow detach itself and move toward them. It looked like a person dressed in rags and dirty.

}:She is the one:{ Ponderth informed her rider. Monda looked the girl up and down and shook her head. She hoped this wouldn't cause her any problems.

"Please I want to go to the Weyr. Please, i am a drudge here and I wish to go to the Weyr." Shandara asked as she held her one little bag. "I'm Monda and Ponderth says you should come with us. She believes you would make a good candidate." She told the girl. "I'm ready."

"Is there any one you need to inform?"

"No."

Monda didn't think longer on it and help the girl up. In moments they were soaring above the hold. A breath later they were between. Of course neither rider nor passengers saw the figures spill from the hold calling out to them. Shandara's escape was being noticed by her family as this holder's daughter dissapeared between.
