Description: Treya makes unwelcome advances towards the new Weyrleader
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 9, day 8 of Turn 4
For a while her now she had been self conscious, her feelings of self worth had taken a battering following the break up with C'pouk, but now she felt ready to brave the Weyr and the men of the Weyr again, determined she would find someone who felt she was worth more than a roll in the sleeping furs.
She had had her eye on K'deren for a while now, but lately whenever he had a free moment from Wing duties or from his children, he had been in the company of one of the healers. She would never again come between a man and his woman, her experiences with R'harne had taught her something
- as well as her own heartbreak over C'pouk.
She had been cautiously sussing out the menfolk - she wanted a real man this time, not a boy. And the only real men in a Weyr were dragonriders
- at least to her mind. She didn't care what age, as long as they were past their thirtieth turn - she wanted a _real_, _mature_ man, who knew what he wanted and that he wanted _her_.
She admired the rear view of one of the men as he walked past her table, he certainly met her requirements - she knew without looking at his face. But here was not the place to make her move - not out in the open of the dining cavern, the experience with R'harne had taught her more than one lesson.

"Can I come in for a moment, Sir?" she asked, knocking briefly on the Weyrleaders door, and standing in the open doorway, a bright smile on her lips and a flash of bravado in her eyes.
"Wingrider," K'reyel gestured her to come in. He was still getting used to the idea of being Weyrleader and the sudden increase in respect that people used with him.
"Thank you." she strutted into the room, her hips keeping time with some inner beat. "I just wanted to say, congratulations, K'reyel, on your new appointment." she leaned across the desk as she bent to take her seat, her ample chest on display for him to take in.
It was tempting, for all of a moment to look, but that would not be appropriate now. "Thank you," he said with a faint smile, that was something else to get used to, all the congratulations. "Might I ask what brings you here today?"
"Oh..." she ran her hand along the edge of his desk, "Not much, I just came to see how you're settling in, and well, wondered if you weren't busy tonight..." she let the unspoken invitation linger in the air. She was a little disappointed that he hadn't taken up the offer of what was in front of him.
"I'm sorry, but I have work to do," he gestured to the stack of hides that lay on the desk, the pile that seemed to be growing by the candlemark.
"And you'll work on them all night?" she asked, her eyes widening in surprise at his rebuff. "Even the hard working Weyrleader has to take a break sometime." she said breathily, standing and walking around to his side of the desk. "And I can help you relax from the hard days work you're putting in." she said, her hand descending to his shoulders as she began to massage him slowly - her lips barely a finger length from his ear.
"I'd leave now if I were you," the tone might have been mild, but the meaning wasn't. "When I finish here, I'll go have dinner with my weyrmate and children."
"Oh... But I thought..." she stopped for a moment, considering his words. "I thought you and she... that you had..." she had promised herself no more _involved_ men; the last rumours she had heard were that the Weyrleader and his weyrmate had taken a break - she had been upset by his winning the flight.
She dropped her hands from his shoulders, not quite sure how to excuse her actions. "I suppose this is what I get for listening to rumours."
she said quietly. "You must forgive me K'reyel I had no idea..." Had she been so out of things around the Weyr she had missed them reconciling?
"She has been ill," he wasn't going to make the details of a very difficult pregnancy, and the early labour that had followed the flight public.
"Oh..." she moved further away from him, back to the other side of the desk, "I'm sorry, K'reyel, I had no idea." she shook her head, still trying to fathom how she had managed, once again, to get herself into such a situation. "Please," once more she stood on the far side of his desk, her face, she knew, reflected her embarrassment, "please accept my apologies. If I may be excused?"
"You're excused," he gave her a look. "Next time I'd listen more carefully to what people say. Is that understood?"
"Yes Sir." Treya nodded, still feeling she was glowing like the Red Star on a dark night. "I will." She turned and hurried from the room, before K'reyel could allot her a punishment for her behaviour. She still couldn't believe how she could misconstrue the relationship between K'reyel and his weyrmate. If she heard anyone disparaging their relationship in future, she'd certainly have something to say about it.
"Good night greenrider."
