"Ciara," the former Weyrleader reached out to take his weyrmate's hand.
"Ciara?"
She was lying upon her stomach, her back stitched and bandage. She had been given fellis and so though her eyes opened and she smiled to her love, she was still quite groggy. "Hello darling."
"I came as soon as I could," those words sounded so, so wrong but he hoped she'd know what he meant.
"I'm glad you're here." Her voice was soft and she found it difficult to take a deep breath, as if her lungs were only holding half of their normal capacity. "You okay?"
"I'm fine, tired, and so's Nikornath. He's with Ellianith now."
"Ellianith is fine." Ciara murmured, her eyes closing, then slowly opening again. "She was scored." Thankfully, the dragon's socring wasn't quite as bad as her own. She mentally caressed her dragon who outwardly crooned and drew closer to her bronze mate.
"The dragonhealers say she'll be grounded for a while, just like you."
Ciara swallowed, though her throat was dry and felt a little sore. "How long?"
"A month at least."
"Oh." That long? It seemed like forever. Not that Ciara was ready to jump back up and meet Thread head on at that point in time anyway. She tried to take a deep breath, but her body just wouldn't let her and she winced at the pain the very slight movement caused, despite the combination of numbweed and fellis, both of which were beginning to wear off as it was. "Check on Radela?" She asked, closing her eyes once more.
"I'll bring her to see you later, if the healers will let me."
"Maybe tomorrow." Ciara didn't want her daughter to get scared. Radela didnt' need to see her mother like this. "Just tell her I'll see her as soon as I can."
"I will," replied K'sedel softly. "I will."
Ciara tried to laugh, but it was too much effort. She did manage a smile and her thumb gently stroked K'sedel's hand. "I'm fine." She insisted.
"It's only a set back."
"And we'll get through it."
