Description: Trellyn shows A'se the cargo of the downed ship, and go off to find more.
Location: Dolphin Hall, Elsewhere on Pern
Date: month 8, day 7 of Turn 3
Trellyn was in the water, talking to the dolphins when she saw a blue dragon appear overhead. Recognizing the rider, she waved and excused herself from the group heading toward the spot where A'se and Rath had landed. "I told you I'd take you up on your offer to help." she said as she waded out of the water.
"and I'm happy to oblige," A'se assured her, grinning, "where are we off to today?"
"What, you don't what to know what happened to the ship you rescued?"
she teased. Nothing like trying to drag out the suspense...
"Oh I get to see the ship," A'se said, trying to hide the enthusiasm in his voice. He leaped off Rath so that he could better assist Trellyn in mounting the blue, "has anything interesting been found yet?"
"Well you don't get to see the ship itself," she laughed, "it was good and sunk, but yes, we did find alot of interesting things." She pointed to a building near the pier, "Come on."
A'se followed Trellyn down to the pier wondering what they could have found on the ship. He desperately wanted to know what they had found aboard the sunken ship, but would not give the dolphineer the satisfaction of his asking, knowing full-well that she would make fun of him if he did. Finally curiosity got the better of A'se and he asked almost too casually, "so what exactly did you find?"
"I swear A'se, you have absolutely _no_ patience!" she grinned at him then gave in. She leaned in close to him and whispered "We found stolen goods on that ship. From the Northern Holds."
"Wow," A'se said, excited that he had been part of such an important discovery, "do you know from which hold?"
"From all over." Trellyn replied. "There were bundles of cloth, tanned hides, miner's tools, paintings, books, even a box of gems!" She was getting more and more excited the closer they got to the building, and when she reached the front step she all but jumped to the door. She opened the door and signaled for him to enter. As they walked inside she outstretched her arm and exclaimed, "TaDa!"
"Oh, wow," A'se breathed as he looked at all of the recovered goods, "all of this must be worth hundreds of marks. What are you going to do with it now?" He would not have minded taking a gem or two with him, just in case he came across a greenrider in need of some wooing later on.
"Well," she sighed, "We've put the word out... discreetly of course, and found the original owners for a good share of it. All that will go North with the next few ships if there's room. Some of it was ruined like the hides and we had to throw it out. Some of it hasn't been claimed yet. I guess if nobody claims it then Master Seori will decide what to do with it." She shrugged, she hadn't really thought much about where it was going, she was too excited about the fact that she had found it all; and that A'se had helped her!
"So what do you do now?" A'se questioned, "you must have had me called for some reason."
"Well you did offer to help if I needed anything." she explained placing her hands on her hips, "A pod said they saw two ships meet at night, I think they were moving cargo between them but the dolphins weren't clear on that part, anyways; they said one of the ropes broke and one of the crates fell in the water. They said the men tried to swim down and find it but they were bad swimmers." She laughed at that last part. "I asked if I could go check it out and I thought you might like the morning in the sun!"
"Sounds great, should we go then?"
"I've got my gear right here." she indicated as she threw the two bags over her shoulders, "Let me just show you where to go!"

The blue dragon emerged from /between/ over an island, remarkably similar to the one they had visited previously, yet infinitely different. "Where do you think that we should land?" A'se asked the dolphineer, knowing that the dolphins would have given her a fairly exact description of the location of the crate.
"On that beach down there." she said into his ear as she pointed with her arm outstretched. Once he nodded his understanding, she re-wrapped the arm around his waist, enjoying the free contact with the attractive rider.
Rath made a gentle landing on the soft sand, and A'se hopped down to better assist Trellyn. When she was safely on the ground he asked, "Do I get to come and watch you swim this time?" He rather enjoyed watching female dolphineers swim.
"It's somewhere in this lagoon, you could come and swim with me." she teased. Looking out into the water, Trellyn didn't see any dolphin fins. "I don't have a bell to call them in, would your Rath mind giving alittle trumpet underwater to catch their attention?"
"I would rather help just by watching,"A'se assured her, almost too quickly, "but Rath wouldn't mind calling the dolphins."
Without a word from his rider Rath summoned the dolphins.
Laughing A'se said, "I guess that he must have been listening to our conversation."
}:I was,:{ Rath confirmed, }:I want the dolphins to come and play with me.:{ "Thank you Rath," Trellyn said politely, giving Rath an approving scratch on the neck.
She saw the jumping figures almost immediately as they zoomed in towards shore. As she waded into the water to await them she called over her shoulder, "You know, You could just sit on Rath's back and he could paddle over with us."
"That might work," A'se said tentatively. Despite his lessons with Des he still was not entirely comfortable in the water.
"Dragon call, dragon call us," one of the dolphins squeeed in delight.
"Good day," Trellyn said addressing the dolphins as they swam around her, "I'm Trellyn, Kibb's dolphineer. Do you know where the crate is that the men dropped?"
"We know, we show you!" the second dolphin replied. "Dragon come too?
Dragon want to play?" all three dolphins squeeed and clicked at that comment too excited to speak more words.
}:See I told you that they would want to play,:{ Rath said triumphantly, }:they do like me.:{
**But you're not swimming to the crate with them,** A'se insisted,
**you can play with them when they are done searching for it.**
"I think that we'll stay dry today," A'se informed Trellyn, **the sun is so nice and warm.**
She couldn't quite understand why he would prefer the hot dry sun over the warm, clear, refreshing water; but she shrugged and said to the dolphins "Lead the way!" as she followed them out into the lagoon.
As she followed the two energetic dolphins through the water she marveled at the beautiful coral reefs present with its many colors and variety.
The dolphins seemed to enjoy the opportunity to play with the dolphineer at they alternated swimming next to her and swimming circles around her. After only a few minutes she found her missing crate. It was medium sized, and upon examination, she could find no obvious markings of origin. As she swam back to A'se she excitedly wondered what was inside the mysterious crate.
"Is that it?" A'se asked excitedly, as soon as Trellyn and the dolphins were within earshot.
"Well, I found it." Trellyn grinned as she waded out of the water, "Can I borrow your dragon again? I promise he won't have to drag any boats this time!"
"Of course, what do you need us to do?"
"Just follow us out and I'll hand Rath up a rope. Then you can fly it over to the shore and we can open it up!" she explained excitedly.
"Just show the way."
