Ciara

Ciara

"Thank Faranth!" B'lamick said aloud as the first of the waves crashed into him. It was cool, not cold, but the rain had chilled the water enough that it too the edge off the flight lust that had been wrecking him. This was only his fifth chase, and he'd lost again. It didn't really bother him that he lost, he hadn't known any greens his bronze had chased, but he wasn't yet used to that feeling that overwhelmed him, and it was very very frustrating!

He stayed in the water another couple of minutes until his heart rate slowed and he felt normal. He realized he's run into the waves with his clothes on, and he didn't relish the long walk back to his weyr in soaked britches. He waded out of the waves, deciding to let his clothes dry out on the beach while he swam a bit more, and waved at the passerby approaching him.

Ciara lifted her hand to return the greeting. She was still grounded, but while her movements were stiff, she was able to get around much better and walk much further. She had taken her lunch with her and strolled leisurely down to the sea, nibbling as she went. When she drew close to her fellow dragonrider, she greeted him with a warm smile. "Good day."

"Fair skies" B'lamick returned the greeting. He shucked off his shirt and sat down to remove his boots. His propriety deemed he wait until he was alone to remove his pants.

"I know I've seen you around," Ciara admitted as she cocked her head to study the young man. "But I don't believe we've properly met."

The bronzerider struggled with his second boot, the wet leather didn't want to unpeel from his foot, finally freeing himself and tossing it next to the match. "B'lamick. You're Ciara right?" fairly sure she was the Weyrleader's mate, ex-Weyrleader he reminded himself.

"That's right. How is it that you know me but I don't know you?" Ciara laughed softly. "Well met, though. I hope I'm not keeping you from something. I just saw you and thought I'd say hello."

"Nope, not keeping me from anything." B'lamick replied, although an attractive woman didn't exactly help quell his inflamed nerve endings. "And in case you hadn't realized, when you're on the arm of K'sedel, you become a bit more noticeable." he added with a grin.

Ciara returned B'lamick's grin. "Yes, yes I guess it does. I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised. So what brings you to the beach today?"

He wasn't yet seasoned enough at the Weyr to not be a little embarrased by the situation, "And swimming fully clothed? My bronze decided it was a good day to give chase, unfortunately he didn't win."

"Ah, I'm sorry to hear that." Her gaze fell across him then moved to the water, a knowing smile playing upon her lips. "You know, there are women who are usually willing to help dragonriders in just such a position."

"Yeah..." having sex with a stranger for the safety and mental well being of his dragon was one thing, having it with a stranger because he couldn't control himself was another. "A swim seemed a better use of my energies though."

"Suit yourself." Ciara shrugged, though her amused smile still tugged the corners of her lips upward. "It certainly is one way to go about it. Just keep it in mind if the need ever arises.

He always did keep it in mind, and while others might find it silly of him, he just couldn't shake the idea that sex wasn't supposed to just be a casual sport. He'd done it when it had a purpose, like during training, he'd _practiced_ with another weyrling so they knew what they were doing during a flight, but besides that, he was content to wait until he found someone to whom it would mean something to. "Oh don't worry, it's always right there in the forefront after a flight."

"I'm sure." Ciara shook her head. "Well, I should probably head back. It was a long walk here, a long walk back and I do tire easily." The greenrider hoped she hadn't overdone it.

"Nice talking to you." B'lamick said with a wave, he was eager to finish stripping down and heading back into the water. Another hour of swimming should allow his clothes to dry a bit and he'd feel completely normal by then.

Ciara returned the wave and then made her slow, stiff way back to the Weyr.
