Picnic to the Sea shore, part 2/2

Writers: Emma, Paula
Date Posted: 10th October 2008

Characters: Alrog, Fieyaz
Description: Fieyaz takes Alrog to see the Ocean.
Location: Garnet Valley Hold
Date: month 12, day 7 of Turn 4

Alrog spread a blanket for them to sit on, then shed off his clothes. "Do
you think it's safe to swim?"

"Certainly looks like it," she said after a moment turning her eyes out
towards the water. It had been hard to try and be discreet about watching
as
he removed his outer clothing at least. Proper Hold bred girls weren't
supposed to look, or even enjoy the sight.

"I'm used to mountain lakes. At least this one can't be colder than them.
Anything expect /between/ isn't colder than Iron lake," Alrod said and
bravely walked into the water. "It's warm!" He started
swimming. He wasn't a great swimmer and made a lot of splash, but at least
he didn't drown. The bay's water was calm. If there had been waves, he
wouldn't had dare to try swimming.

"Wait for me!" Aware that it might seem immodest, Fieayz removed her outer
clothing to reveal a relatively modest bathing suit.

"All right," Alrog replied and stood up. He realized he was staring and
looked elsewhere.

Fieayz swiftly joined him in the water. "Mmmm. Not bad in here."

"Not bad at all, " Alrog agreed, trying very hard not to look her
indecently. She was an attractive looking woman after all.

Fieayz gave him a smile. "We used to swim a lot at the Weyr," she said,
wondering if he realised that weyrfolk rarely bothered with clothing in
the
water. "Mama said it's good exercise."

"I've only swom in cold mountain lakes. You don't spent much time in
those," Alrog said. "It's a little miracle that I can swim at all."

"I bet you're a far better swimmer than you're telling me now," she teased.
"Race me?"

"I hope you're good with the first aid," Alrog warned her teasingly.

"Maybe I won't need to be," she responded.

"We'll see," Alrog said omniously. "Last one on to that rock is a
wherry," he challenged and pointed a rock that stuck out from the sea some
distance from them.

"You're on!" Fieayz wondered if he was a better swimmer than he was letting
on, the rock was a fair way off. Still, she could try her best to beat him.

Alrog hadn't been quite honest about his swimming skill, he had not told
her about the warm pools deep beneath his hold. But his skill was mediocre
at best and style quite splashy.

The rock seemed to be a little further away than she thought. Fieayz wasn't
a particularly fast swimmer, but she was quite a strong swimmer and could
keep going.

Alrog did beat her into the rock but only barely. He was also more tired
than he had expected to be. He was not used to swim long
distances.
He slapped his hand against the stone and just gasped for air.

"Oh my, you won," gasped Fieayz a moment or two later. She got her breath
back as she treaded water. "I suppose you want a prize now."

"And what would that be?" Alrog asked. His mouth was suddenly dry and his
heart pounded almost painfully against his chest.

"A kiss."

Alrog didn't know how to react to it. "Perhaps it should wait untill we
are back in the beach. If I make it back. I might have
overestimated my own strenght," he said with nervous little laugh.

Had she misread the situation? Fieayz was so sure that the young holder
liked her, and most men would have been falling over backwards for a kiss,

sea or not. Or maybe he needed a little more persuasion. "I'll be gentle,

and besides, it might build up your strength."

Truth to be told, Alrog was simply nervous. He hadn't lot of
experience about kissing women. He suddenly wished he had been less good
boy and more like his brother Rorin. But Rorin had been a raper, so maybe
he wasn't a good example.
"Okay, just don't drown us," Alrog replied nervously.

"I won't," she said, pulling herself closer against the rock. She lifted her
head until her lips met his, keeping it slow and gentle.

Alrog found himself replying with passion that surprised him.

"See, a prize worth waiting for?" she asked, a smile on her face when the
kiss broke.

"Yes," Alrog managed to say.

"Then race me back to the shore and you might get another prize."
